Hi
Has any one seen/have the Adventures in Tarot deck by Paul Vaccarello???
This deck has only the major cards printed in black & white and gold foiling.
If any one has the full deck I would love to see the full deck scans!!!
What you you think? Do you like it? dislike it? Why???? tell me what you think.
I like to hear your views please.

It has an interesting whimsical style to it... but not personally of my taste.
(I like rich edible looking decks that you can sit in and take your shoes off and feel the grass between your toes. The ones I feel an affinity for make me feel as if I can wonder around inside them and get lost. The ones that do not resonate remind me of a lovely piece of artwork hanging on the wall in a museum that I can look at and admire, but can't touch. That is how I feel about the Toth deck for example - so lovely, but I can't get warmed by it.)

The Fool reminds me of profile silkscreen of a Maxfield Parrish-style illustration. If I reduced a graphic image to two-colors and lines and then did flat silkscreen tones to fill in the image, then I would get this stylized image.
In other words, my guess is this a well-designed deck.
I think this artist is so good, he or she dares to make it simple.
I may be guessing, but I was only able to do a minimal line outline and tone fill-in of a live cat after many hours. And after years of drawing and sketching--the reward was when a significant other of a friend of mine was delighted with a quick sumi-style painting of their cat. He was classically trained as an artist and I'm a dedicated amateur. Since it took me several hours to achieve that simplicity (I was sketching cats and my friends for hours), this is my take only. I'm not a natural artist, I struggle to make it simple.
Anyway, I'm impressed! Let us know if you get it...and do you have some art background?

Hi Mari,
I couldn't find silkscreen of a Maxfield Parrish-style illustration. Do you know the name of the illustration so I could do a search?
Yes I do have have a art background and I will give up my daytime job as a Healer and go back to design, even if I don't get much money for it. + I want to spend more time with my children.
Nice deck but it's a shame that I can only see a few cards due to copyright.

i like the artistic style of the artist. i think the drawings are well done but i wish the deck had more color. i think color would really make a good deck into a great deck. color would make it seem more alive. it looks good in monotones of white/black and gold so i can live w/ what the artist has chosen here. if i had the opportunity, i'd probably get it for the quality of the art. i particularly liked the lovers card.

This deck reminds me a bit of the Aquarian somehow. It's not really my style, and I prefer 78 card decks, but I do like Temperance.

Okie, just had a look.
First I would say the style is quite reminiscent of Aubrey Beardley's work on the Yellow Book.
Secondly, that the limited palette is a very Y2K illustration style - don't know when it was done mind you - and this palatte leaves the symbology to the fore without overcrowding it with busy imagery - less is more, as they say - but 22 cards is just about my limit in this style, the whole 78 would be a complete overkill.
However, if the accent colour for each of the suits was different, that would be a whole different story, as they say

SSSOOOOOOOOOOO Expensive! But I wouldn't mind this deck, at all! *LOL*:D
(Maybe we should harass Jewel to ask her hubby one }) *LOL*)
I like the design, even though I am not sheer crazy for it; but the simple lines and few colours just make it stylish to my tasteless and vulgar eyes. I also agree with Mari's point regarding the skills of the artist, ad t Yes, I like the Lovers more than others, and some cards do remind me of the Aquarian (Sun, Moon and Judgement especially).
My guess is that it is only a 22 cards deck, since only majors are shown and generally, if minors exist, they are shown. Actually I wouldn't even mind a 78 card deck made this way.
Even though, you know that already... silver would be much better! :D

Wahhh...I was going to pool up with someone else (family member)...but the Mystic Eye DOES NOT have it in stock. I don't know when they did ever stock it, but it is gone.
Sniffles and then going to my New Year's List...

P.S. Because I just am in a snit, I did a few bad mojo, shame-on-you forefinger waves in front of their electronic storefront catalog picks. Giving them the Bird would have been too-good for them.
