I found myself in the bookstores today! (didn't really mean to go there! :P ). Actually I suddenly HAD to have the Olympus Tarot and decided I would get it and study some greek mythology again along with it. I feel attracted to the artwork on it even though I've heard some of the myths illustrated on the cards don't exactly portray the card they are on that great.
But wouldn't 'ya know, they didn't have it in stock at any of the places I went , even though they always did before.
They had the mythic tarot ,but as many good things as I hear about this deck, I just can't get myself to feel attracted to the artwork!
But I DID notice a new deck set "Beginner's guide to the tarot" by Julia Sharman Burke (same author as Mythic tarot). And though the name doesn't sound real exciting for a seasoned collector ( :P )I felt Really attracted to it! I was Real tempted to buy it. It's a R/W clone but the pictures looked really cute and nice and colorful. And there was just something about it!
Does anyone have this one? I'm curious about it now.
Then there was the new Fairy Ring Oracle by the same people as sacred circle deck.
I actually ended up getting nothing. Which is probubly a good thing! But now they are ALL calling to me!
Which one would you get?
Sorry for the rambly post here! I'm just So excited!

I would probably have fallen for the Olympus Tarot.
Don't you just love going into the local stores and seeing what they have? I printed out a list of all the stores that might carry decks in the three surrounding states (just in case, LOL). When I'm actually in the store and looking I have found myself interested in decks I'd never wanted before, but then when you see them up close and personal...sigh.
It's too much fun. :D

The book Beginner's Guide to the Tarot with the Two of Swords on the cover has a deck included that people are calling the Sharman Caselli Tarot---Caselli for the Italian illustrator Giovanni Caselli.
Online, the reviews at TarotPassages are listed under the Sharman Caselli Tarot. Olympus is also reviewed there.
If you have a Borders nearby or have access to Amazon.com, the Olympus tarot and Sharman Caselli also are available. Some people have even written reviews at Amazon.com of both decks.
I hope this information helps.

Hi Purple,
I have this deck/set (I KNEW I was forgetting something on the "What decks do you have" thread!). The deck is ok: charming, traditional artwork, nothing jarring or conspicious. The main problem I have with this deck is that the paper stock is cardboard-like and not terribly flexible.
The book is pretty good for what it is: for beginners, or if you just want to have a handy reference for review.
Another thing you need to be aware of is the packaging: the box actually forms the back cover of the book; you have to cut it yourself to free the book. And the cards have no holder/box of any kind.
Hope this helps.
