There also is a Bosch, and a Giotto, and a Leonardo, and some one else too I think...
And then two decks by Palladini - he won't be the greatest painter of last century, but he was in my Art textbook at high school, so there.
I like them all. Actually Bosch is the most interesting. I HIGHLY recommend it.
And Dalì is on ym list. Maybe when I have grown crazier - yup, even more - I'll get it.
And after all there are many Artistic decks around.
Dovilio Brero for example... (I dream of this deck most nights)

speaking of which, if i were to make a monet or van gogh deck, do i still need to ask permission somewhere to use their images, or are their works considered as public property? :)

My opinion may be wrong, but here goes...
I've heard that if the people take photos produced from museum sponsored publications or collections, and if the museum or foundation had published that image recently, the museum or foundation might own image rights to that version.
If an artist repainted in the style of the painter, with correct attribution, I don't know if the heirs of Van Gogh or Degas would actually try to shut the business down.
If you take the photo, yourself, I think there are court cases still deciding about the image rights.
I am taking my own photos and reworking them and using my own pattern backgrounds (I marbelize some material or do a faded images of my own designs). Then I run it by critics to see if they believe this work is original.
Someone I knew recently bequeathed about 30 years of his own photography taken from the world---some 10,000 slides of incredible and original photography done in art galleries, museums, parks, etc., to a start-up nonprofit foundation. I took a Dante seminar with his widow and we were fortunate to see them.
I found the photos to be works of art from angles and in lights that weren't available in any museum collection or the web. My teacher has educational use rights to other collections, but prefers to use both his own and the just-bequeathed photos. Examples are sites where Dante lived, cathedrel exteriors and in some cases, interior sites where he gained local permission because he is a teacher.
I don't know if this is way off base or too old school for a general question.

Edited to say -- I just found out study groups might only be open to subscribers, I'm not sure...
