Gold or silver, old or new.
Got a fav or a concern?
Someone noted in a Nefertari to Ancient Egyptian comparison how distracting gold foil could be.
In another note, I didn't know for one that the Nefertari was that fragile...but I stuck it in silk-lined velvet bag and cut the box up as a reinforcement around it in the bag.
The gilding on Golden Tarot of the Tsar is very appropriate, but might be too Biblical 'saints go marching in' for some. My Visconti Gold seems tough enough to bump around in my thinner bags and my Mantegna is also holding up well.
I'm beginning to sign myself as easily distracted by shiny metallic tarots...at least to start a shiny thread. These are Marseilles derivatives if you do not count the Mantegna.
Has someone a gilded Rider-Waite or other alternative that they like? St. Petersberg, Golden Rider, Old Path?
Curious,
Mari distracted by shiny metal accents

Until now I still have no gold foil deck in my collection but I hope to get the Golden Tsar next month. I think I will only use it as a collector's deck as I am afraid the foil will wear off by handling it too often.
