Tarot-holism strikes again! })
About 4 months ago I ordered the Whimsical deck & book set from a local games store (I know, not the best place to get it, but I like the store and they usually do special orders rather quickly). I was hoping to give the deck to a friend's daughter for her 10th birthday (23 july).
I'd pretty much given up on the deck because I never heard back from them about it. Eventually bought some books for her b-day present, which she loved. When, what do you know, on Saturday they left a message saying that the deck had come in. I drove into town yesterday to pick it up, and come to find out they'd only gotten the deck. ARGH! Now, they told me that if I didn't want it just to let them know and they'd put it out for sale.
So, a) it came too late for its intended purpose, and b) it didn't have the book like I requested (believe me, I made sure to give them the ordering info for the set, not the individual pieces). What did I do? Say, "no thank you, but I'll pass."?
Nope, I bought that baby in a heartbeat.
Yea! Now I get to have fun learning a new deck. It's not really my usual style (I think I need a little more darkness in my decks) but I have to say that some of the images are perfect for the card meanings.
off to play, hope you're all having a wonderful day.

Enjoy this deck - I love mine - it's looks are quite deceiving. I've received wonderful, insightful readings with it. Keep us updated on how you fare with it.
Did you do a new deck spread with it yet?

Mind if I ask, what is a new deck spread? Thanks.
I think I might get the Whimsical Tarot one of these days, too!

Lunar -
A new deck spread is the very first spread that you do with a deck new to you (either just traded for or purchased ;)).
.....3.....
1.........2
1 - What will you teach me?
2 - What do I need to do?
3 - What will our relationship be like?
As for getting the Whimsical - I realy recommend it. It's a lovely deck and easy to read. It contains my favorite Death card (sleeping beauty) - which isn't an easy thing to say since the Death card is not my favorite card in the deck (:TSTAR the Star is).

Oops, forgot to mention that. Yes, I did a new deck spread, and that's the only spread I've done so far. Mostly I've just been falling in love with the images.
If the cards are right (and if I've interpreted them correctly) this should be very interesting. The Whimsical will teach me :TSTRE, I need to find time for solitary retreat 4:WL, and our relationship is represented by the :TTOW. Well, you guys told me the readings could be intense and serious (thanks, Maan) and it looks like that is going to be the case for me. Maybe it's my own preconceived notions about this deck that need to come crashing down.
