Inspiring online art collage deck?

A free reading of 22 majors. Beautifully done in my eyes.

http://www.911gallery.org/tarot/tarot.htm

She doesn't give buying options, but I enjoy the art and inspiration from classic sources. Some of the faces and costumes are recognizable from sources seen in my Italian Renaissance art class.

Some people who enjoy the Jane Lyle's Lovers Tarot or the Love Tarot 22 majors might find the art style similar. Or do you think this is totally different, good, not good, or nothing special?

I'm curious also if you might not find such art to your taste. Do you like more modern decks instead? Or tired of the photocollage, interested in something else?

I had a reading too, and it was really good!

If this deck were available I think I would get it.
Would not mind other 56 cards though, those they call "minors"... ;)

Unfortunately i have none of the decks you mention, but from the scans I see online I think there is not likeness whatsoever... And I pretty much prefer this one as well - all winged characters! :)

Mari, give a look at this one too, much more medieval though (you might detect that ;)). The author joined the Forums too, she is a member! :D (I salute you if you are reading :*) I pretty like it. There's something... can't explain. A sort of vision...

Mari -

What a stunning deck! I love the imagery; simply gorgeous. I really love classical imagery and this majors only deck is beautifully detailed. Too bad it's only available in the virtual format. I had an amazing reading by it - very dead on. Thanks for sharing the link.

Definately a beautiful deck. I'm not tired of photo-collages. To be honest (hangs head) I like them a lot more than most modern decks drawn by hand.

Ah, someone posted the GoldenTarot link!

I find the GoldenTarot gorgeous and in a class by itself, to me. I also hope that deck gets published.

Thanks for the feedback on the link. If this artist ever does publish, I'll also be in the line from Aeclectic, waiting!

I have to admit that, though I generally do not like either collage decks nor ones with illustrated pips, the Golden Tarot is undoubtedly a deck I will add to my collection when released.

I also sincerely hope that full details of the original art work is referenced in any accompanying document(s).

Thanks for the link Mari! That's a beautiful deck, and I also like the ability to do online readings with it.

I liked the Golden Tarot as well. I'm definitely buying that when it comes out. It's gorgeous, and I (like jmd) hope that the book will talk about her sources. I love medieval art. I find it a complete and total shame, though, that the author can't show the images of the deck in their full glory due to her copyright problem. It's terrible that someone would steal like that.

it's different than the other 2 posted here, but it's my very favorite online art collage deck of all time!

I Love it!

Thanks for the Lunea link---her online and collage work is a standard that I like for comparisons...I think she participated in out a wisewoman/sagewoman* calendar/journal? I'll have to find out, as I'm looking for a calendar/journal for monthly goals/meditation work with tarot.
Oh, what I mean in the above---I like to use her site as a comparison point for excellent, inviting and enjoyable readings.

*I think that is the name of the publication--no offense intended to all wise and sage men, animals, children and otherworldly creatures or sentient beings.

WOW!!! Good link purpleady! Nice deck!
I loved especially all the VIPs included, and some artistic pieces she borrowed (The Pre-Rafaelite in Descent! AAAWWWEEE!!! :D) !!!
The John Malkovich of Le Liasons Dangerous (Dangerous Liasons) is great as three of swords!!! I think I've also seen a very important italian actress, but I see her everywhere, so I'd better shut up... *LOL*
Definitely a beautiful deck!

I'm with Pollux - thanks so much for sharing the link! The deck is beautiful and the site is wonderful too.

Hi all, esp jmd,

Some kind soul has started a thread just for my Golden Tarot deck! I'm happy to answer any questions (eg about source art etc) there:

http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7296

I've just put teeny-tiny versions of the whole to-be-published version of the deck onto the site. Apologies they can't be any bigger, given the piracy problem :(

Thanks ever-so for your support, guys!

Wow... such beautiful and inspiring decks! :)

blue_fusion  12 Sep 2002
indeed very beautiful collage decks. :) they've created an art different from the original sources, but nonetheless they're fascinating. :)

Trogon  12 Sep 2002
Mari;

I'll add my thanks to everyone elses for sharing the link! I have to agree that it is a beautiful deck - one I wouldn't mind owning if it had the minors included...

I happen to like some of the collage-type decks, but like the painted ones as well. I have a rather... ahem... Aeclectic taste in Tarot decks I guess... })
