is anybody else using this deck ? Do you use it on its own--, or alongside another deck? What do you think of it?

The deck rocks.
It is my #1 deck when reading for others. I do not use alongside others.

I have this deck too. I like the artwork, but I dont actually use it very often, I found my interpretations of it to be...colder or harsher. Not sure how to put it. But it is beautiful. And you gotta appreciate that they made Stalin the Devil card.....

This is really Riversea (just too lazy to log myself in!)
I just got this deck as a Lammas present from Landon. I haven't done too much with it yet, but the artwork is wonderful. I'm happy to have it.

yes thats the one---and I got it because I loved it on first sight..the colours, the cards, even the backs are so beautiful. But ....but. I think I agree with violet, the readings from these cards on their own are very stark, maybe like the russian people's lives were? If I use them with my other cards they work together, and the other cards add a bit more substance. It's annoying because these cards I LOVE. !

This was my first deck, a gift from my sister. I just couldn't connect with it and now I know why. Allthough it is beautiful, my readings also seemed cold and harsh with it. Like the russian history I learned from the book that came with the deck... Cold and harsh.

I use this deck to study Tarot with and it can be very insightful. The readings tend to be honest, in a sense. I agree that the artwork is beautiful, but intense.

Those who like the Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg may also enjoy the new Golden Tarot of the Tsar. You can see some of the cards here. It's a very Christian deck. It uses the same Russian iconographic style, but IMO it's much more beautiful, with lots of gold foil. The scans in that link don't really do it justice, because the borders look black, but in reality they're dark red, which with the gold looks just scrumptious. This is a Lo Scarabeo deck distributed by Llewellyn. You can order it from Amazon U.S. by clicking here.

i was gifted with the russian st. petersburg just days ago, and i love it! i immediately connected with it. such gorgeous artwork! i have found it to have a strong focus on business, activity and the pursuit of happiness and dreams, lol. this deck is not subtle and tells me to get moving.
i see no need to use it with other decks.

I have the St. Petersburg in my collection (it is too precious for me to have it used in readings) so I use the Egorov Tarot as alongside deck. The Egorov is also a Russian inspired deck but much plainer than the St. Petersburg or the Golden Tsar (I hope the latter will be soon in my collection).
