I finally found some info on the Steele Wizard Tarot (http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/steele-wizard/index.html). which I've been drooling over forever and a day. I found the artist's Web page, and sent her an e-mail, and this is her response:
<< The good news is the original wanna be publisher will no longer have any legal calim to the deck in one month. I have presentations ready to go to the two major publishers who have inquired regarding the rights to publish. So I should hear something by the end of October or November at the latest. >>
In case anyone else was interested. :)

Yes, I was! That's great news! Maybe soon we can stop drooling over scans and start drooling over the actual cards... with bibs of course, we don't want to get them messy. ;)

Does anyone know what all the extra cards are about? I think there are something like 87 or so cards in this deck. Just curious.

More info on the deck from the artist (in response to some questions from y'all here that I sent her):
<< Four of the cards are 'Maiden' cards one added to each suit card to represent either a young woman or the suit/card 'potential'. The are six additional Major Arcana. They are 'The Weaver' to represent Fate, the 'Universe' which is the creative Void from which we Create All That Is, 'Truth' to give insight to personal truths, 'Soul Twins' which is the 'Me/Not Me' other Self Identity of the individual designed to represent the connection to the Divinity within, 'Evolution' which is what our planet and we are in the process of doing/being, and 'I AM' which represents the Divine Self which we are. The deck total is 88 which is a master number that has never been done in Tarot. Since the first time I opened a deck I felt they were incomplete. There were too many gaps in the story they told. Over the years I took notes and made sketches to fill in these gaps. When I felt the time was right for this deck, I began the drawings and upon completion submitted them to the original would be publisher. Many things happened. They were not published by that person due to incompetence and lack of funding. Meanwhile Llewellyn and Carta Mundi have asked for the rights to publish. The original contract expires in less than one month and my attorney has assured me there is no chance of the wanna be publisher having the means to interfere. So I have presentations ready to sent to the other publishers. Either way it will take months to get the deck into their printing que. I don't look for the deck to be published befor spring of 2003 at the earliest. However, since it took me over 20 years of research and development to design this deck and get it on paper, I have learned that the deck will be published when it is ready to be published. It seemed to take on a life of it's own the day the final card was finished. I apologize for the delay, but it's been out of my hand's for quite some time. >>
I definitely need to put away some money for this one.... :)
