I've been reading a book about Tarot and I want to get a deck with no pictures on the pips. The thoth deck sounds good (if I can be sure to get a small one with NO green colour) but I was wondering which decks count as 'thoth clones'.
And do people recommend the clones or the thoth as better decks?

There are several; which are thoth based(meaning that they use the names of Thoth Majors, and the same court card system) but I can;t really think of any that are thoth clones except maybe the Rohrig.
Other Thoth based decks are:
Cosmic Tribe
Haindl(greatstudy deck)
Take a look at this thread here. It has a lot of suggestions.
Hope this helps!

Rohrig! Not a clone, but an incredible simulation, as it follows Thoth courts and has some of the same Thoth symbolism

Thank you Liliana for the information on Rohrig and Phoenix for finding that other thread for me - I was sure there had been one, but I just couldn't find it.
Now I'm off to look at decks again. Could be expensive ;)
Love and light,

I know you just checked out the other thread but since I am into Thoth based decks thought I would contribute to this thread. To my knowledge there is not a Thoth clone available, but there are several Thoth based decks such as:
- Cosmic Tribe (I have found this one to the be the easiest one to read with and it is my personal favorite)
- Gill Tarot
- Rhorig (very large cards)
- Haindl (also incorporates I-Ching ... to me this is the hardest of these to read with, but I love the deck).
In 2004 the "418" will be released and it will also fall into this category. And that one is a "have to have" deck!
As for the Thoth decks themselves, I love studying with the large AGMuller deck (it is the NOT green one), and the US games smaller deck (with the 3 magi).

thoth symbols are included on the ancient egyptian deck even tho it seems to follow rws to some extent. interesting deck. check it out.
do i recommend the clones or the thoth as the better deck? i see no decks here i can't recommend. i can't say that about rws clones. my favorite of these is the Rohrig. it intense, beautiful, and sensual w/o being tacky.
