Hello again,
This is the post of what decks I should consider for purchases in the future. Hubby said to keep a list handy for special occasion...yippee!!!
Here's what I currently have:
Buckland Romani (on it's way)
Deva Deck
Power Deck
Faeries Oracle
Robin Wood
Gendron
Zerner-Farber
Hanson Roberts
Whimsical
Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg
Ancestral Path
Rohrig
Osho Zen
Tarot of a Moon Garden
Wild Spirit
Universal Waite
These are some of the ones that appeal to me at the moment:
Merryday
Crow's Magick
Tarot of the Old Path
Healing with the Angels
Healing with the Faeries
Shapeshifter
Halloween
Animal Wise
Spiral
Vision Quest
Motherpeace Round
Medieval Scapini
Art Noveau-Matt Myers
There's probably more than that...but that's what I have off the top of my head anyway...lol. If you could recommend any of these decks which would you or maybe there's something out there I haven't mentioned that you think I would like??? Give me your ideas.

Hi,
There are a lot of your list I could recommend but I limit myself to the Vision Quest as there are rumours that it might be OOP in the USA, so I think you should try to grab this one first.

I don't have the Vision Quest... yet... but it's pretty high on my list right now (thanks to Pollux). The Whimsical is also on my wish list!
I do have the Faerie's Oracle, Robin Wood and Spiral. I would recommend the first two, but I didn't care for the Spiral (just me, I know many people love it!).

Of the ones you listed I like these best. The Halloween is way fun, cute and usable!. Tarot of the Old Path has been one of my all time favorites for about 6 years and I used it a lot for reading. The Shapeshifter is very pretty, but I must admit that the extra majors bother me. The Vision Quest is trully beautiful. It is a very soothing deck. I really like the Spiral a lot too.
Other decks I would suggest:
- Cosmic Tribe (I would not be me if I did not list this and Kayne would worry about me if I did not suggest this deck *LOL*)
- Gill Tarot
- Ancient Egyptian
- Thoth
- Cosmic Tarot (neat card correlations, in one card you can see what is going on in another card through a window and stuff like that)
- Rhorig
I could sit here and write a laundry list of decks *LOL* so I am going to stop here. Ohhhh and the Vision Quest can be ordered from the AGMuller web site ... postage costs more because the deck would be coming from Europe.

if it were me i would get the Merryday or the round mother peace since i don't have those two:)
but as an advice i would say it depends on why you want them, what will you use them for?
the halloween is a lovely deck, fun and easy to read with.
spiral is beautiful and one of my favorite decks all times.
the vision quest is also beautiful but i can't really say so much about it, i have it but haven't really used it yet.
other decks i love!
*gill
*thoth
*spirit tarot (if you like more intuitive and abstract art)
all those three are great decks for study
but if you just want one as a top choice:
Spiral
it will be a trusted friend.

Merryday-very pretty and unique but will take some work to read. i recommend buying the book that goes w/ the deck. lots of numerology.
Shapeshifter(has extra cards and other changes. be prepared to work w/ this deck)
Halloween***FUN!!!***
Spiral(i don't love it but i don't hate it either. love the majors. can't adapt to the minors)
Vision Quest***LOVE!!***
Motherpeace Round(i prefer the mini to the large one. after 17 years of deliberating on this one, i'm at last at a place i can deal w/ this deck. the art is better than rachel pollack's shining tribe but still primative)
Art Noveau-Matt Myers ***LOVE***
ones i like you should consider: sharman-burke caselli-also known as the beginner's guide to tarot.
glastonbury
wheel of change
ancient egyptian
nigel jackson
hanson roberts-it would be sacrilegious to forget this one!
zerner farber
rohrig
templar--very eccentric deck--you'll either love or hate it
sphynx or neferteri(they're basically the same except neferteri is gold foiled which makes it astronishingly beautiful)
ananda
moon garden
world spirit
inner child cards(fairy tale tarot) beautiful but if extra large decks turn you off then this one isn't fot you
legend arthurian
that's enough to boggle your mind for a while! ;)

Truthsayer! how I could I have ever forgotten to include the Ananda! Shame on me! *LOL* ... the Anada is just plain and simply breathtaking and great for intuitive work. You can order it from Tarot Garden.

I also chime in with a recommendation for the Spiral. It's a beautiful deck with the most intuitive courts I've ever seen. With this deck, I automatically know what the Queen or Knight is like without having to look in a book at all. Some people complain about there being a difference in the majors and minors, but I have never had a problem with that. Another thing is that this deck is perfectly sized for smaller hands. I've never had a problem shuffling it.

I think you have a great wish list, from your list I own tarot of the old path, shapeshifter, animal wise and art nouveau.
On its way to me are Crow's magick, halloween and the vision quest, and I still have on my list the merryday and the spiral.
It's also great your hubby supports you in expanding your collection !
Well of the decks I already have:
tarot of the old path and art nouveau are the easiest to read as they stick to traditional tarot, both have great majors and less appealing minors, which you prefer is up to personal taste.
I love the shapeshifter, love the artwork. It has three extra major cards but they are quite easy to interprete I think, there's also renaming in the suits and the courts so you'll need a little more time with this deck. I personally think it's worth it (especially for spiritual matters or meditation) but there are also many who find it tough to use.
The Animal Wise is not so much interesting for the artwork (just photographs and not all that appealing borders), I got it to see how I would connect with the animals. I must say I haven't had the opportunity to study it properly, the deck does come with a book that looks quite good. It's definitely something different.
Whatever deck you get now it will probably just be a matter of time before you get the others ;)

so true! It depends what you like but out of your list of possibilities I'd choose the motherpeace , with book "Motherpeace: a way to the goddess". This was one of my first decks and I loved it back then. But if you don't like feminist stuff then you probubly won't like this deck! Most people either love it or hate it.
Then I'd chose the Halloween set. I Love this deck currently! So cute and very easy to read. It's like RW but with a different twist.
Then I'd take the merryday. I've heard it's hard to get, or that it was for awhile. It's independently published. The only negative is that the one I have at least isn't the greatest print job and they're a bit flimsey BUT I find it a beautiful special deck and Love the pictures.

Lists are great for suggesting the style of art/learning that might be appealing to you right now. Maybe taking a short inventory or look-see at what you have might suggest some tips.
1) If you have other Mary Hanson Roberts decks, maybe adding one more would round out your collection...or it might be feeling a bit boring if you think there's something intriguing about the art of the Spiral or Old Path.
2)If you have good bookstore/new age stores nearby and you can browse decks, that's a good way to sort through your next picks.
3) Decks such as MerryDay doesn't seem widely distributed, but there are websites to check out the decks that you listed. The best search engine seems to be www.google.com to bring up various reviews for assisting your lists....
Lists and tastes can always change and grow. I found after a few years, there are tarot decks or deck themes that also migrate to other friends/family.
Sounds like a fun and beautifully different group of art decks that you picked.

Thank you everyone for the recommendations of which decks I should get next. For those of you that reccomended ones that weren't on my list I'm glad you did. Truthsayer recommended Nefertari's and Ancient Egyptian and now I'm proud to say that those 2 top my list of must haves!! If I had to slim down my list now these would be the ones I want the most now:
Nefertari's Tarot
Ancient Egyptian
Vision Quest
Spiral
Merryday
Halloween
Medieval Scapini
Wheel of Change
Inner Child
Any other suggestions still welcome!

I like the Nefertari very much, so it's multi-seasonal for me: but I was thinking if you did get one at a time:
August: Nefertari for it's must-have joy in a sunny, dry month
September: Vision Quest to begin to enjoy the fruits of the season
October: Halloween (or before because people likely to buy it early? Switch with September?
November: Spiral for it's dramatic coloring and richness
December: Another gold foil --- Visconti Gold or Tarots of the Tsars or Russian Tarots of St. Petersberg OR the whimsical Medieval Scapini---which might have a book out by U.S. Games by then. I'll have to keep checking their site.
January: Inner Child---for stories in a cold time
February: Ancient Egyptian---I'm longing for sun and returning to walking like an Egyptian
March: Merryday---there's a longing for green and stories from other culture
April: Wheel of Change--Because all the above taught me so much and I'm ready to learn more
----------------------------------
Nefertari's Tarot
Ancient Egyptian
Vision Quest
Spiral
Merryday
Halloween
Medieval Scapini
Wheel of Change
Inner Child
Any other suggestions still welcome!

I'd go for the Spiral (I'm biased - I love the Spiral :) ) - if you do go for the Spiral also try to get the book - it'll give you the full background info about the Majors and a little more insight into the Minors :)
