Hello Tarot Addicts, I've been so busy this summer I haven't had much time to spend on this board. I wanted to share that last night my hubby ordered me the Buckland Romani Tarot. It's one of the ones on my wishlist that really appeals to me. To those of you that have it.....what do you think of it???? It's looks like a good deck to read from and It'll be the first one I have with gyspies.
I'm gonna start another post cause I want some ideas of deck purchases in the future. Hubby said new decks would be a wonderful Christmas present this year.

I got this deck recently in a trade (thanks again truth!). It's really beautiful. It can be read with, but to me it seems to "speak" a little differently than my other decks. It usually asks me questions instead of giving me answers. And then I have to answer those questions to get to the answers. Does that make sense??? It seems more mysterious than my other decks, but that may fade in time as we associate more. I hope you like it.

YAY for the Hubby!!! *LOL* ... and congrats on your new deck!. I have the Buckland Romani, and although I must confess that I have not spent any time with it, I think that once I read the book it will be a very usable deck. The change in the names of the suits is probably what will take me the longest to adjust to, but hey I can learn that!. The art is beautiful, the size of the cards is nice and manegeable for shuffling, and overall I really like this deck a lot. It was a "must have" on my list. It is also the only Gypsy themed deck I own, probably the only one I will need *LOL*. If you really like the deck, Raymond Buckland also wrote a book on Gypsy magic or something like that, that you might want to check out. It has nothing to do with the deck, but might be an interesting read if you like Gypsy stuff. I have not read it though, so you might want some other opinions on the book before getting it if you are curious about it. Again congrats!!!! Hope you love your new deck!

I have this deck and although I've been working too much to start studying it I really like it. Each card seems to tell a story and I like the fact that the picture goes clear out to the edge. No border.
Congrats to you for having a husband that will buy you a tarot deck. I've all but hit mine over the head with hints to buy me decks and he just can't figure it out. Maybe someday.

I have this too, and it really is a very beautiful deck. I don't read with it, have only done one reading with it, but BOY what a reading! It's not completely like the Rider Waite deck when it comes to the meanings, but the images are soooo alive and beautiful...!
Congratulations and good luck with it!
Light and love,
Jenny :)

Well my Buckland Romani came earlier in the week. I really felt a good connection with the cards upon first inspecting them and they seemed to be talking to me. I did a few daily draws with them but have yet to do the new deck spread. I finished up the book last night. It really gives alot of Romani history and is very well written. I enjoyed it alot. I hope to work with these cards alot. Did anyone notice that one the page of chivs (knives) that the picture of the man in the background has a pink marker stain near his pants. Is this an error on the printing of the card or is it supposed to be there? I wonder if I can get a replacement card or if everyone's is like that too??? Regardless, I love the deck.

Red/Pink, it seems to be there in all the decks. I don't think it is suppose to be there but it is.
