For those of you that like the large sized decks, can you recommend any? Which are your favorites?

Well I am not necessarily a fan of large size decks (love them for study though!) I would have to say that my favorite large decks are the AGM Thoth (the one that is NOT green) and the Rhorig. One of the advantages to the large cards is that you can really appreciate the art and catch onto symbols which might have missed in the smaller version of the deck (if it comes in more than one size). The Rhorig, in my opinion, is just simply beautiful! how could I not like it?

I only have one larger deck, it's the Sacred Circle. I think the larger pictures show the artwork (landscapes etc.) better. And I don't use this deck for reading so I don't have to shuffle it.
I sometimes use it for meditation, I think bigger cards are a pro for that.

Well, I've heard people say this is not a "true tarot" deck, but I nominate the Inner Child Deck. It's a very large deck, but worth the trouble to shuffle. The images and colors are wonderful. The cups and wands are nice for relecting/meditating. The book has some beautiful descriptions that help you think beyond the 'traditional' meanings.
Just my .02 :)

I would say the world spirit but that must say something about what what i call large decks.
decks larger than the world spirit are too large for me and i simply don't like them much :( Don't know why i just do
Although i still like my copy of the Rohrig.....although i never read with it

i have 2 favorite large size decks: the inner child and the rohrig. i love IC's look at fairy tales and the brilliant colors. i love the beauty and sensuality of the rohrig. they both are compelling for different reasons. i also like the large thoth but for a different reason. i read w/ it around 15 years. lots of good memories like w/ a good buddy.

Rohrig, Rohrig, and Rohrig again! I too, do not get on well with lare decks, cuz I have small hands, so do not usually read with lareg decks, but the Rohrig just begged to be read with, so, despite my troubles shufling it, I did...

ROHRIG! Definately, it is something else, I adore it yep, in fact do you need me to talk you into getting it? I can, have for probably 10 people already. Its nice too because it really isnt wider than most decks, but its taller. And the art is superb :)

hi all,
I love my sacred circle deck..it's a bit large though. What I tell people to do is shuffle it side to side and swish it around..
I love the pictures and never really noticed the size until someone else said it was hard to shuffle.
have to check out the Rohrig deck next..

I have the Rohrig (thanks to Liliana and others talking me into it *scowl* ;)), but I haven't had a chance to read with it yet. But it looks great and I'm sure we'll get along famously despite the size.
I LOVE the artwork on the Inner Child cards. They blew me away.
Also, I can't believe no one's mentioned the Victoria Regina tarot yet. I love this deck even though it's done in black and white. I think it's so neat that she could do collage work that skillfully. I never could! I'm a big fan of Victoriana too so this works well.

I agree with Oriel and Keslynn, except that I don't have the Voyager cards. :D
I think its neat that the two decks (IC and VR) are complete opposite color, or lack of color, schemes. Yet I think that both decks would lose something if the cards were made smaller.

i can't believe i forgot about the VRT!! the large size does work nicely to see the intricate art work. i guess i haven't catagorized it as a large deck in my mind.
i really wish there was a larger sized i am one deck. the ananda is a good size to shuffle to read w/ but i'd love a larger size so i can see the imagery better.

i don't own the Voyager cards--they're on my wishlist of course! i've looked through a sample deck at the store, and a girl read for me twice using her Voyager deck. they were the first large-size deck i ever saw, and the images left a great impression on me. i love the "Harmony" card (I think that's what it was called...) :)

Voyager, Giant Haindl and Giant Thoth. I also like my Giant RW a lot, it is much better to study with a bigger deck than the usual standard RW.

Hi catlin, are there two sizes of the Haindl (perhaps only in Germany)?

My favorite larger decks are:
Crowley/Harris Thoth deck - large Swiss version
Light and Shadow - excellent black & white deck
Margarete Petersen - stunning artwork
I do have some troubles shuffling large decks, and the Margarete Petersen deck is so beautiful (and a bit expensive) that I'm afraid to damage the cards. Just looking at those MP cards individually is fine by me!

Hey, Strange2,
Glad you mentioned the M. Petersen deck! I really forgot to mention this one together with the Tantra Tarot.
Lee, I sent you a PM about the Giant Haindl which is as far as I know only printed here.

BTW, for you Voyager fans, has anyone found a good carrier for the deck?? I'm having trouble finding one that will fit such a large deck (h/w and thickness).

Have you ever been to Tarot Totes (www.tarottotes.com)? If not, then you're in for a treat! Go check it out now and you'll decide that you need a bag for every deck! I've had nothing but great service from them. They have a nice selection for larger sized decks. Also, I believe you can custom order if you don't see it in a fabric you like.

Kes is absolutely right - I love Tarot Totes! Great service, beautiful product and excellent turnaround time. I haven't been disappointed in a single bag that I've purchased there!

Definately go to tarot totes, I got my bag reikied because Im apparently the only person on thisforum who cant do it herself lol. It was written on the reciept by hand the date and time the reiki was channeled, and it the bag came wrapped in this awesome moon and stars tissue paper I love and had to keep of course.
Oh and in case someone might be curious, I wrote them and asked if my Rohrig would fit in the receiving mixed messages bag and they said no, but i bought it anyway and it does too fit. My Rohrig INSISTED it would fit lol, maybe mine shrunk itself a tiny bit to fit ;) Lets see some things readable on it include During his Junior Year, that first day?, also a growin---enrollment, come--- the sense of possib, and other stuff vaguely about campuses and disappointment, apparently it has something to do with college but only very brief pieces can be read, as it will have typewriten words and handwritten words interspersed. Its cool, mine has an antique gold cord I specifically asked for, gold was too shiny hehe

My favorites are --

I've had some luck at finding beautiful larger bags at Renaissance Faires and in specialty shops that sell handbags.
Tarot Totes is wonderful too, of course...

I like large decks. Even though I have small hands, I played piano for years, so they are not a problem. :)
My favorites -
Victoria Regina
Rorhig
Haindl
And my Aquarian (not quite as big as the others, but close)

Having small hands I usually steer well clear of large decks but I do like the Victoria Regina, I find that if I shuffle them top over top, with a little practise, it works quite well :)

Ditto, ditto, ditto ... I would LOVE a large sized Ananda. I would probably never come out of those cards! And the I am one is another one that would benefit from being a larger size IMHO.
