Today I called several of the shops in Eugene asking about Ancestral Path cards and nobody had it. I looked online and a deck is almost $30, so that plus the shipping put it out of reach for me right now. I decided to go look in the shops anyway, just to see what they did have. I went to one shop where they didn't have many decks and like a thunderbolt------there it was! I had called the guy earlier and he said he didn't have it. And not only that, the price was only $15!!! It was just waiting there for me, I know! LOL So now I have the Ancestral Path deck! I'm so jazzed about that, because I wanted it so much! My new deck spread and past, present and future spreads so far have been excellent, so I'm sure this is going to be my favorite deck.
Another deck I got is very cute! It's the Fairy Tarot that's made in Italy, and I think it's going to be really neat to use to read for my younger grandkids with. I hadn't planned on getting that deck but it was just too charming to pass up.

Teal -
Congratulations on getting the Ancestral Path and Fairy Tarot decks! I'm not familiar with the Fairy Tarot personally, but I love the Ancestral Path. I use it for any past live spreads most especially.

Thank you for being so happy for me about finding this deck. I was obsessed with getting it and it was driving me nuts. I thought I was going to have to order it. Finding it in that shop was fantastic! Especially after the guy had said he didn't have it and I hadn't been able to find it anywhere else. I see it's got the copyright date of 1995. I didn't realize it had been around that long.

I wonder if the $30 deck was really a set, and the $15 deck was just the deck, no book? This deck (preferably the set) has been on my wish list for a long time! Hoping to aquire it someday. Hope you are enjoying ancestral path! I too was kind-of obsessed with it at one time! But I didn't order it from amazon. The bookstores around here don't seem to carry it often either.

No, it's the deck that's $27. I don't think it comes as a set. If there's a book that goes with it, I hope I can find it some day, but so far I haven't seen anything about their being a book to accompany it. There's a booklet with the deck, though, of course.

Actually the $27 price is for the book and card set.
the book is 239 pages.
if you go to this link...

Teal the price you paid is very good - here in New Zealand the price for a deck and book is $49.95. Books and decks are so much dearer here. I bought the deck last year and have found it really great - I use it when we have Tarot at my Devopment Group for past life spreads and also past, present and future spreads. You will get a lot of enjoyment out of your deck.

Just updating my reply to you Teal - the cost of the deck was $49.94 and I paid an extra $34.95 for the book - I checked the catalogue after I posted last night. If you wanted the boxed set it was $89.95 so I bought separately. I think we pay double the price here in New Zealand.
Enjoy your deck - they are a lovely set.

Oh my gosh! My condolences to you, my dear! Decks cost so much there! Does it save you anything on cost to order from America or another country?

Yes I will have to look at buying from Amazon - our NZ dollar is only worth 47c American and 87c Australian - this changes daily. A month ago our dollar was only worth 39c American.
I am just a bit apprehensive about putting my visa card number into the internet - so haven't ordered overseas yet.
A friend ordered through Amazon for both of us we got the Sacred Circle Deck and the Shapeshifter Deck from Amazon and with postage it cost us $127 NZ each - if we had bought those decks here we would have paid $99.50 for The Sacred Circle and $95.95 for The Shapeshifter - so there definitely is a saving.

I guess it's a matter of it just being that your dollar is worth so much less than ours, is that it? Rather than the decks just in general being more expensive over there? Maybe if they were made in New Zealand, the price would be more comparable to ours. For me, the decks usually run about $16-$20 for just the deck, and around $30-$35 for deck/book sets. Some, though, go as high as $65 for the deck/book sets.

I really do recommend the book, this is one of the few decks that have a date timeline built into the different cards, and you need to book to get the dates. It also is more in depth on the meanings of the cards, of course.
Check online with www.half.com for the book, you can likely get it for less than you think. There's a few other 'used book' sites that might have it too, I think one other is: www.bookcloseouts.com/bc/home.asp
Why pay retail???
