Oh you people are terrible!! Now you've gone and set me on the road to becoming a Tarotholic! })
I went to a local "new-age" type shop several times over the past 2 weeks looking through their Tarot decks and books, thinking I might pick up a new deck. On my second stop I had looked at The Röhrig Tarot. Absolutely fascinating imagery! But the price was a little off-puting - most of the decks I was looking at were in the $15 to $20 range, but this one was $25. Then I checked Amazon.com - they wanted $27. So, yesterday I went back to see if the one deck they had left was still there... that's when I noticed the little green sticker that said "40% off"!!! Woo Hoo!!! I got it for $15!!!
:TCHAR
Being a little bit of an auto racing fan, The Chariot really caught my attention. But all the images seem to speak to me. I'm going to look the deck over for another day or two, then try that "new deck" reading and see what happens to me.... ;)
Boy am I !!! :D
[p.s. solandia - i will be using your links for some of my future tarot purchases... ;) But I just couldn't pass up this deal, now could I?]

Welcome to the Rohrig Tarot fan club. There's several of us here who are nuts about Rohrig.
Now for the important question - Is your princess of cups wearing any panties?
I know it sounds a little weird, but there is a method to my madness.
There are at least two versions, a european and an English. The european version is less inhibited. The English version covers up genitalia for some prudish reason. Sort of like Robert Ashcroft and the bare breasted statue of justice (then again, some people would say it aptly illustrates Ashcroft's thinking).
I think we're in the process of starting up a Rohrig study group here. Look for notices if you're interested.

I have the German pantless version but I'd like to know if the International/English version is also made of a pretty flimsy cardboard.
It is really thin, so I wonder how long it would last in case I'd use it for readings (I won't do that altough I really like this deck - maybe I should get the International version as a reading deck and the pantless deck as collector's item?).

Ah another person joins the Rohrig fold and for once I didnt have a thing to do with it ;) Welcome to the world of amazing art representative of the modern age but a few too many boobies and other parts without attached bodies lol. he art is amazing and I realy love the keywords and other little pics drawn on the ripped sheet of paper that is featured in each card. Now you know what you need to do, go buy the Rohrig book. Its a great help for the Majors and has full color glossy pics of all the cards. I wish it went into the runes better, but I know the runes are the same as the ones on the Haindl so Im thinkng of getting the major arcana Haindl book, because I know Pollack goes into the runes better.
Who is suppose to start that Rohrig group? Im very good at talking but not so good at leading hehe
Oh and I recommend the Receiving Mixed Messages bag from www.tarottotes.com as a home for your Rohrig deck, tho they have many other very nice ones in the large bag section.

Alas... my Princess of Cups not only is wearing panties, she is wearing a shirt. :( Ah well... I suppose one of these days I may get one of the erotic decks - just for the heck of it. })

Well... I wouldn't say you had nothing to do with it... :D I have read one or two of your posts where you might have mentioned, in passing, or hinted, that you seemed to like the Röhrig deck just a little tiny bit... })

Another Rohrig fan here. Although, to answer your question, Catlin, the cardstock is a bit on the flimsy side, and I am very careful shuffling them.(I have the English Edition.) When I first got them I was concerned that they would rip. And they're so large, I have to shuffle them sideways. But I really like them, and consider them to be worth the extra effort.
I relate to this deck very well, and have had a high degree of accuracy reading with these cards.
