I picked up the Glastonbury Tarot at Half Price Books last weekend; it was marked $9.95 and they were also having a 20% off sale, so I got it for a heck of a good price. From what I've seen so far, I like it (apart from the oft-noted sticky card problem), but I hadn't had the thing more than 48 hours when I noticed that the corner had split and peeled, just a little, on one of the cards.
Now, normally I'd go back and exchange a deck for something like this, but I did get it pretty cheaply, and I am wondering if this is a quirk/flaw common to this deck. If it's likely to happen with any copy of the deck, I might as well just glue the corner back together and count on handling this one very, very carefully. Whoever has this deck, and can tell me if this is a common problem, or not, please let me know.

my glastonbury doesn't have any peeling cards but i paid full price. i'm willing to bet that defect is why you got the deck so cheaply. i would glue the edges together w/ some good clear glue like E6000 or scrapbook glue and just be careful. it's a good deck no matter if it does have a defective card. if that's the only thing wrong w/ it you got an enviable deal.

I bought mine new and had a card do that to me as well. I took it as just something with the way this deck was made.
But the funny thing was I didn't even glue it back together. When it happened I was getting ready to go out of town ??? or something that caused me to put it away for a couple of days. I was planning on using glue when I got back.
But once I got back I couldn't find which card it was. Just having them sit with the pressure of the rest of the cards pressed it back together.
I know that sounds really weird but I can't figure out which card it was (of course I don't remember which one it was either LOL) So I haven't had to do any glue tricks at all! :D

I had the same problem crop up with an old Albano-Waite deck. It is printed on rather thin stock and doesn't seem to be coated very well, if at all. In my case, since I mostly use this deck for study right now, I just used a very small amount of white glue, pressed the split closed, wiped off the excess and put it under a couple of books. The thing is you must get the excess glue out before you press it or you may end up with it glued to the book! ;)

Thanks for the replies. It was a new deck, BTW, not a used one; it looked like Half Price Books had a bunch of them remaindered. Maybe they were part of a defective batch? More likely, some store or wholesaler was clearing out an overstock. I'm probably going to use this deck for study rather than readings, anyway, so I'll probably just glue the corner very carefully and hope none of the other cards do this.
