I have a question for you Röhrig fans out there: There are 3 symbols on each of the Major Arcana of the Röhrig Tarot. The upper left corner has one of the Hebrew alphabet characters. The upper right corner has a Runic character. However, in the lower right of the Majors are characters that, for the most part I am not terribly familiar with. I recognize them as being symbols relating to the planets and the zodiac, but I don't know what many of them are.
Is there a web site which explains these symbols? Alternatively, can someone post a brief description of these symbols (listed by card, so I can easily find them). Or, on the other hand, perhaps someone who is really familiar with The Röhrig Tarot might start that Röhrig study group which was mentioned in another thread? Personally, I think this last option is the best... any volunteers? :D

Here are the planet symbols that appear on the cards. I'm sure there are little brief descriptions somewhere! Just not sure where to look.

I would love to participate in a Röhrig study group but I have no time anymore, so I certainly can't start it. Sorry! :(
Hope that helped!

The Rohrig Tarot Book, written by Francesca Marzano-Fritz, has an explanation of the runes.

Kirali;
Thank you very much... that is just what I needed! :D
Divinerguy; Thanks for the tip on the book... will have to check into getting that next time I have a few extra bucks.
Now then... here's my next question... On The Fool, the planetary symbol appears to be a melding of the symbols for the Sun and for Mars. Is this correct, or is it a different symbol all together?
Thanks for the help...

That would be my guess too Trogon. I guess it's a mixture of mars/sun personality traits? hehe I'm not really sure. I should probably buy the book. I'd love to know why he chose certain symbols and pictures for this lovely deck.

MY guess is that the symbol represents Uranus.
I have seen Uranus drawn not only with the cross-like thing, but also the arrow up.

Pollux gets a cookie, it is indeed Uranus according to the Rohrig tarot book that i finally found (fell behind the computer)
If theres any other specific questions on the symbols on the majors ill look it up in the book for you

Thank you Pollux and Liliana!! Does Francesca Marzano-Fritz mention in the book why that symbol was used instead of the symbol with the cross on the "h" shaped thing?
And - Liliana - I probably will be asking more questions! :D

It is exactly the same thing.
you might find Uranus in both ways, just like you might find PLUTO in many ways (the P with the bar benearh, or the symbol shown on that site of the downward-pointing circle).
It simply ios another way to draw it, another way you ca nfind it - and maybe a more old and traditional one.
Uranus is generally associated to The Fool. That's in many decks.

Is it just a misprint on the Justice card that I see Virgo written on there? He has Virgo written on The Hermit as well. I usually associate Justice with Libra. He has the Libra scales symbol on the Justice card, and Virgo written on the left hand side of the card. Perhaps he messed up?

Yes apparently it is a mistake, never caught that lol
The book says Libra, the symbol drawn is Libra, so it SHOULD be Libra, thats pretty strange and funny lol

ah yeah it is funny. A little quirk to it. Now I wonder if I can not think about it everytime I look at that card now. hehe
Thanks for looking it up and answering! :)

Okay Liliana and the other Röhrig experts... ;)
Here's a couple more questions; The rune displayed on The Magus and The Emperor are, essentially, the same rune (Ansuz) but are reversed from each other. How do these runes relate to/differ from one another?
What is the astrological symbol displayed on The Judgment? It is a circle which is cradled in a moon type symbol with the points of the crescent pointing up (like a "u").
Thank you all very much for all your help so far.

Ok the rune on the emperor is ansuz, but the book says the one on magus is fehu, for wealth and power. (the book does not cover the rrunes well at all, i want to get the book for the Haindl Tarot majors for the rune info in it since it uses the same runes as Haindl)
The book says the sign on Judgement is Pluto, must be an alternate version.

Silly Liliana... :P
He called me Rohrig expert and you didn't even complain you had to share your title with ME... *LOL*
It must be Pluto. Check the drawing I made, it should be that one, not the "P" ine, but the circle with the demi-circle and cross. Probably without the cross (I can't detect the cross in the pics of Judgement I have seen online).

Pollux cant be an expert yet, not until he owns the deck, qwhich requires me actually sending it to him lol

Ah... yes, using "fehu" on The Magus makes some sense I reckon. According to "The Book of Runes" by Ralph H. Blum, "fehu" relates to posessions, fulfillment, ambitions realized, etc. I can see how this can relate to The Magus. According to this same book, ansuz has to do with receiving signals, messages, connections to others, etc. I guess I can see this "connection" as well. ;)

Ah... yes... I can see it now, Pluto without the cross below it. Thank you!

Now now... there's room for more than one "expert" on Aeclectic Tarot, isn't there? })

Yep... no doubt about it. It HAS to be Pluto... all of us agree... :D
Thank you both again! You just have to love A.T. people! ;)
