Hello to everyone-
Pretty recently I ordered a fabulously gorgeous tarot from Italy. Perhaps some have heard of it or have the pleasure of owning it. It is a reproduction of a deck created originally in 1835 called the Soprafino. Its publisher, instead of trying to modernize it or "clean it up" has left its lovingly-worn, antique appearance as is. The result is a very authentic looking deck with bowl-you-over-beautiful artwork. I love the thing! I have been putting it to use too, and here is where my problems begin. I LOVE to shuffle and read with this deck. It is petite and flexable and a real dream to shuffle. However (dread!) I have noticed that although the cards are of excellent stock, the square cut ends have begun to fray a bit. I am thinking soon enough they will be dog-eared. Also, the deck is not coated in plastic as most every other deck I own is. It is rather naked looking...Which I really can't complain about (adds to mystique). Yet I am concerned that with continued use the cards and their beautiful images will be ruined by skin oils. What to do? This is such a beautiful, traditional deck. I don't want to just set it on a shelf and never use it. It is such a great deck though. One I'd like to pass on to my grandkids (when I have 'em). Any suggestions on how to preserve my beloved? Thanks to all who reply
