Last Friday I ordered the Spiral Deck and book. I have read so much wonderful stuff about it and it seems very intuitive. I really love the court card pictures I've seen online. I hope the deck arrives soon.
Joan Bunning offered me a deck/book set at 50% off because of the Vision Quest I had ordered from her that had the 4 blurry cards. She had sent me a replacement deck and it had the same blurry cards. I really wanted the Spiral deck/book and for $12.47 couldn't pass it up!
For those of you that have the Spiral book what do you think of it?

It just arrived. I love it. I especially like the princesses. I'm anxious to get started working with it. I'll try to do a new deck spread soon. I like the purple borders and don't think they detract from the pictures at all. Thanks everyone for the recommendation of this deck.

Spiral was the deck I chose as my first serious trying to learn to read deck. I adored the courts too, at the time I had a pretty strict set of guidelines I wanted in a deck and it fit hehe I wanted
1.Pictures with enough detail and realistic enough to be easy to do the entering the card exercises from Tarot for Yourself
2.I decided I prefered Princesses over Pages because they had more of a feminine tone t me, which balanced the male and female in the courts
3.I wanted the male and female imagery to be pretty much balanced
4. I wanted fairly traditional symbology
5. I wanted associations on the majors of the zodiac and the hebrew letters and thought Qabala associations would be nice but didnt expect to find a deck I liked with them, SPiral has all of them
6.I wanted pretty art
And Spiral met it all, I progressed out of working with it because Ive lost interest in Celtic Mythology portrayed in the majors, but I'll have to give it another go sometime.

CELTIC??? Are you sure of that?
The only thing close to Celtic myth is the Graal in the Fool.
For the rest I see Greek, Roman (ditto *LOL*), Egyptian, Eastern...
Momof3girls I am so jealous! I wish I had the book too...
I think soon I'll have to search for books instead of decks.
I really like this deck, and even though I am not working with it at all, I love it.
I agree with Liliana's comments about the artwork, and completely relate to what she said.

Hi Momof3girls,
The Spiral has been my primary deck for quite a few months now, I've tried other decks but keep coming back to the Spiral, so I've decided that this is the deck for me.
The book came after the deck and reading the detailed interpretations of the Majors really opened the deck up for me. I studied with the Rider Waite but found I moved onto the Spiral very easily. I too love the purple colour of the borders and the way they look like purple clouds when the cards are fanned out lol :) - The Spiral just gets better with use.

I love the purple cloud border too, but really hate that they made the back blue instead of purple. Im getting a new tarot bag for my Spiral thats purle like the cloudy borders

Congratulations on acquiring a new deck, Momof3girls! Let us know when it arrives and what your impressions are of it. I like the look of the purple borders too and am puzzled why they chose to go with a different colored card backing.

Starfish, It arrived yesterday. I love it. I'll try to do a new deck spread soon and post it. Purple backgrounds would of been nice for the deck.
