This a really beautiful deck, different from the art nouveau tarot. found it here: http://www.spiritone.com/~filipas/M...ws/artnouv.html

the problem is, don't know where to order it. does anyone have other info?

i'm pretty certain you can get a copy from amazon. i've also seen it at borders.

Hi blue fusion, I got "page not displayed" with that link. Try this one:

Here is an Amazon link where you can buy it.

after doing some research, i also found out that llewellyn distribute it! :) yay. now i'm going to attempt to ask my aunt in the states to buy it for me, although i'm more than sure that she'll lecture me first on the perils and dangers in dabbling with the occult. :)

Tarotlady has got one up for trade!

Consider that! :)

Anyway - I must say UGH! The deck is less usable than it seems. I have seen it "live", and was not impressed.

(I know I am too judgemental, forgive me)

I have this deck too and i only keep it for the pretty pictures but maybe i'm goin to trade it someday cause it really is not readable IMO.

But pretty it is! :)

Blue, which Secret Tarots are they?? There is one by Jane Lyle, and I think there is one published by Lo Scarabeo.

its the one by Lo Scarabeo, but distributed by Llywellyn in the Us. It's really beautiful! :)

Is the Tarot of the Secrets the same thing as the Tarot of the Master? This was an Italian deck by Giovanni Vachetta, that is also published by Lo Scarabeo. I remember reading somewhere that the US name had been changed from "Tarot of the Master" to "Tarot of the Secrets." The Vachetta cards I've seen definitely have an art nouveau look to them as well, though it isn't patterned after Mucha posters.

There's yet another Tarot of the Master out there that is a Christian deck with Jesus imagery. The one I have in mind is something different.

I may have to look at the Vachetta deck. It isn't a traditional deck, but I've rather liked the art that I have seen from it on the web. There are a lot of Latin mottoes, and that is something I will definitely appreciate.

No, these are two different Lo Scarabeo decks, Secret Tarot and Tarot of the Master.

Congratulations on getting the new decks from your aunt! Did she give you the anti-occult lecture first, like you thought?

I wonder how the cards got that negative reputation. I come from a family where even a deck of ordinary playing cards was considered almost occult and a big "boo, hiss!" so I never picked up a deck of tarot cards till recently. Once I got past my old taboo about it, though, it got so fascinating that I've gotten several decks.

well, i haven't gotten them yet since she's still gonna buy them for me. then there's shipping (i live back here in asia), so i'll have to drool a couple'a weeks more. and, no, surprisingly, she didn't give me the anti-occult lecture (via e-mail), probly because i told her that i was fascinated with tarot as an art form. :)

Well, tarot as art is a legitimate study and appreciation, in my opinion. A college student could even say they're using it in an art class, I'd think.
