Hi Moongold,

This is my favourite reading deck so I hope you have a fine relationship, too. If you go into Joan Bunnings learntarot site and go to where she shows all the decks, at the bottom of the Old Path one there is a link to reviews of the deck. There is a review by Denelder that gives a very full commentary on all the Majors - really worthwhile having. Any of the good Wiccan and Pagan sites will give the meanings of the plants and flowers, too. The minors you won't need any extra info on.

Forget the book - its not worth spending the money on. I was so disappointed - its simply a LWB in a fancy cover.

Blessings

Thanks heaps Mooncat2. I found the Denelder review at http://www.artoftarot.com/oldpath2.htm. It could be me but I couldn't see it at Joan Bunnings, although I found lots of other interesting things there. I did a further search for other things by Denelder and found a few other very interesting general articles on Tarot.

I'm looking forward to studying this deck and plan to use the Nina Lee Braden book, "Tarot for Self- Discovery" with it.

Warm regards,

Moongold

Thanks Redwood and Ravenswing,

Not having a credit card, Amazon.com is out for me, but I've traced the article Mooncat2 recommended and it looks great.

Blessings to you both,

Moongold

There is a book to go with it, I have it. It explains the flowers and plants used and gives lots of possible meanings, upright and reversed, thrown together somewhat haphazardly.

I found it useful, and used the deck for spreads for a long time, though not anymore. I love it too. :)

I also found the book useful. Isued both the Tarot of the Old Path and Robin Wood pretty interchangeably. I actually like some of the changes to the majors in Tarot of the Old Path such as "illusion" and "karma". The dection of the Fool is also one of my favorites. I think this deck will be wonderful in working with Tarot for Self Discovery. Good luck in finding the book, and I hope you enjoy the deck as much as I have enjoyed mine.

I got this deck today as a very belated birthday present. My very first deck that I received as a present!! ;)

My best friend bought it for me. She tried to get me a deck that was on my wishlist, but couldn't get any of those from a local bookshop, so she had to choose from the decks that were on stock. And she chose this one.

It's not a deck that I would have bought myself, but now that I've got it, I really like it! I especially like the Majors and how some of them are renamed.

And she has also ordered the Faeries Oracle for me, so I'm absolutely thrilled!! :) :)

Congrats Tarotlady!!!! Old Path and Faeries Oracle? I want to be your friends friend *ROFLMAO*. Like I said before the Old Path is one of my all time favorites. I hope you enjoy the deck. The Faeries ... well get ready for a whole new world to open up :)
