2 decks in 2 days!

Rhiannon  08 Oct 2002
Yesterday I received the Norse Tarot that I ordered from someone selling it at Amazon... and today I finally received my long awaited copy of the Stained Glass tarot from Pollux! ( :* )

The Norse is just as nice as I thought it would be and I like it very much. I do have a question if anyone else has it though, can you think of any reason why Clive Barrett would show Freyja as Odin's wife and not Frigga? I've just finished reading a book on Norse myths and this seems sort of wrong to me. But so far I like everything else!

The Stained Glass is beautiful. The card stock is a little thin and seems brittle, sort of reminds me of the Mythic... like it could be bent too easily maybe. I especially like the depiction of the Knight of Swords, the Queen of Cups and the World cards. Now I will have to start reading the Marseilles threads so I can understand this one better, as I have only been working with RWS style decks.

Just had to share. Anyone else have these 2?

Congratulations on your 2 new decks, I haven`t got either of these 2. Do you know if there are any images of the Norse Tarot on-line? It sounds like an interesting one.

Love and light

Unfortunately the Norse is OOP, that's why I was so excited! I finally found it for a reasonable price!

The Norse Tarot is currently OOP I believe ... but I think I heard a rumor that it might be reprited. Just thought I would throw this in for crystalmynx.

The Stained Glass Tarot by Scampini is gorgeous. I have that one and I love the vivid colors and beautiful imagery. Congrats on your decks!

you know Pollux is the stained glass provider:)
i will trade him for one too - but not yet.
i see it has no titles or numbers in the suits - which means it is a deck one should not rush when reading.

i never been all that interested in the norse deck though. just not my flavour.
but oh is it not fun with several decks all at once?
it just feels liks such a luxary!

The Stained Glass is definitely CUTE! :D *LOL*

I must admit that I was not impressed when I first checked it - I just opened the upper part if the plastic wrapping of Rhiannon's copy before sending it.
But then the second time, it really really really stinged me. SO CUTE!!!!
Mr Scapini did a great job. The Majors are pretty on average, but some are just great, like the Empress and the Star.
The minors are not striking at first impact, but after a while you start noticing little nice details - like in the 2 of Wands or the small scenes scattered. The Courts are exquisite as well.
The only thing that out me off a bit was colours. but I bet one can get hooked on them after a while - just see Gills... ;) *LOL*

HONESTLY, I wanted to keep Rhiannon's Copy the day I sent it... *LOL*
Now I am a bit pennyless, so I must wait. And after all I can get a SSG at my bookshop, almost anytime I want one, so I'd rather care about oher decks, more rarele found ones for example. :P

Now I am going to get one for Catlin and one for Jema. :D
Truthsayer, did you say something? ;) ;) ;) *LOL*

P.S. YEAH Jema is right, I am the official dealer of the site! Contact ME! }) *LOL*

Hi Rhiannon

I am so happy for you!!!! I had been keeping my eyes out for a copy of this deck since I first heard of your wish for it and had had no luck. Congratulations on such a wonderful deck!!! There is one card in it that has a povely picture of a person with a cat that just looks the spitting image of my Abby cat that is gone and every time I look at it I think of her. Are you going to use it for readings for a while?

 I thought the Scapini Stained Glass was OOP too! Is it available through normal methods, or do I have to oder it from Alida or something?

The Norse is lovely; I bought it long ago when it was still in print. For some reason, although I always loved it visually, I didn't connect up with it very well at first. Once I did, though, it became very easy to use. It's very elementally vivid.
