Hi All,
I went to a local New Age store the other day, and teh guy was just getting a selection of decks in for the shop... I asked him is there were any interesting ones, and he said there was a 'new' Lrd of theRings deck... I asked him if it was the 1996 one, and he said no,it was published veyrecently...
Now, what with the LOTR film and all, I wouldn't be surprised if a new LOTR deck was released, but does anybody know if ther eis any truth in this, or if the shop keeper guy really is getting it confused with Peter Pracownik and Terry Donaldson's deck?

Interesting news.
I have never heard of a new LOTR deck, I even don't have the current one, there are too many flaws in it to be overlooked by a Tolkien fan and Tarot collector and Virgo born catlin ;)

Kiama, I wonder if the shop keeper was referring to the Lord of the Rings Oracle that came out a while back ... other than that oracle and the LOR deck we all know of I am clueless.

Oooh, I hope it's a new one! I was disappointed by the images on the old one. Maybe it'll be images from the new movies! Legolas is HOT! I'd have him on my tarot deck anytime.

One of my Fav actresses as Galadriel - High Priestess.
Legolas as... what???
Frodo as The Fool.
Arwen/Mrs Tyler as Strength - the scene when she's summoning the horse-wave! :D
In short, ala Legend Arthurian but using the moives' frames.
WWweeeeee...
And Saruman in his Tower, and the Devil we know who might be...
A photo-deck based on the movies would be great, lots of shots for minors, plenty of characters for courts, some outstanding majors...
*droools...*
I hope this is not just fancy, and that Kiama will bring us good news, as a Princess/Page of Wands would! ;) :* *fingers crossed

When I was watching the movie I thought: O, this would be so great for a deck ! A real LOTR deck not the disappointing one with Gollem as the fool. If there's not going to be a new one we should create one !
I think the cards should not be too small in size to do justice to the beautiful images...

Legolas as the Knight of Cups! Gandalf as the Hierophant (he isn't really a Magician-type to me.) Bilbo as the Hermit. And I hope the Devil card is chaining Peregrin Took. :P
If a LOTR photographic deck does come out, you'll tell us, won't you, Kiama? I'd beg, borrow and steal for it! 'Nuff said! :smoker:

I guess some of us are Legolas-lovers and some are Aragorn-lovers.
But I agree with you Diana - Aragorn is gorgeous.

Frodo would qualify as Le Bateleur, Le Mat? The Ring itself – it befriends then betrays; it has a will of its own in spite of the will of it’s ‘owner’. The ring exemplifies Hermes, Krishna, Lagba, and Raven. The ring creates lies that reek of truth.
Plus when looked at, the ring appears as a zero – a non-major major.
Aragorn makes a lovely Emperor.

Yes please Umbrae! Do create that deck!!!
I can already figure out an 8 of Wands with Legolas striking arrows in the sky...
And Gandalf on his cart for the Chariot? *LOL*
And a Ten of Cups would feature the Hobbit's party for Bilbo... Mh...
I vote for Legolas too anyway... :P

Aragorn all the way!
I think Sam would make a better Fool - Frodo's too pessimistic.

:(
It is sadly not true... The guy in hte shop was mistaken and it IS teh 1996 Peter Pracownik deck...
Maybe we should talk the film producers into giving Aeclectic the right to make a NW and IMPROVED LOTR deck... With LOTS AND LOTS of Legolas pcitures...?

Aragon ... more Aragon ... Kiama that is a great idea ... think the producers would go for it?
If were able to do this deck I think we would definetly have to put our Aragon/Legolas differences aside and try to make the deck meaningful not just hot! *LOL*

I'm all for someone creating a LOTR deck - I'd buy it!! The only problem would be having to wait till the next 2 movies are out for it all to be created ... Who knows, there might be a cute Eomer or Faramir to have to include too!! (although I am right in the Aragorn camp at the moment ;) ).
For some reason I agree with Lovelave and see Sam as the Fool too - not sure why exactly.

Silly girls. Fawning over movie actors.
By the way, Liv Tyler was sooooo hot.

I see Sam as a guy who is the archetype of "friend." He risked it all to help Frodo. While a little buffoonish at first, underlying his lack of social graces is a heart as pure as gold.

Pammy babe was in Lord of the Rings?????? Ahh, that's right, she was one of the Uruk Hai, new and improved orcs, though she opted for the breast enlargement improvement... Ahh, I am sorry, forgive me, she's had them removed... *L*.
I hear she will be also in Two Towers, one of the Uruk Hai running across the Fields of Rohan.. only they show her in slow motion in a bright red bathing suit, clutching poor Merry and Pippin under each arm.. the back lash sends them into near coma... Luckily Treebeard saves them.
disclaimer: this is satire, I, in no way endorse the putting of the VIP girl in anything that portrays the brilliant work of the late great Professor Tolkein. I am still peeved that they can bring her god awful sci fi movie (can't even remember what it's called) to DVD but they can't release Brannaugh's Hamlet to the format!!!

Actually, I can think of another reason why Pammy might be in the, ahem.. "Two Towers" :P :P :P
Ew Hamlet. Now Macbeth, that's a different story...out, damned Spot!

It was at the local Borders bookstore.
I'm a fan of the movie, so I started with little game packs than saw the card game. I have the Realms of the Elf-Lords 63 card Boromir Starter Deck. It's not really tarot or fancy; half the size of a playing card with a screen insert of a movie character.
If you like it, enjoy as a collectible. I decided this, the DVD and a few anime films might reside with my music collection, but otherwise am not enchanted.
