I'm curious, anyone download the Happy Squirrel card from the Victoria Regina site to add to their deck?
See it here: http://www.thefool.com/vr/index.asp?viewcard=22t
It's the artist's nod to the Simpson's episode where Lisa gets a tarot reading & the Happy Squirrel shows up (it's a BAD card).
Just curious--if you added it, how do you use it? As 'fun'? As a serendipity card? As a 'bad' card?

i don't think you're supposed to use it in a serious reading. LOL i think its just for fun, so that you'll remember the anecdote behind it. :)

Wellllllllll...............for non-serious readings then! Something to lighten up a question. Like for when a person turns to their Whimsical Tarot deck or the Inner Child deck.
Still, anyone out there own up to downloading the card?

That was hilarious. I won't be downloading it, however.

I forgot about the Happy Squirrel! I'm so glad you reminded me, Hudson!
I plan to download it and add it to a directory on my computer into which I've scanned all of the Majors from a few of my decks. I then use that directory in my screensaver program. It'll be fun to see the Happy Squirrel pop up in my screensaver like it's a regular old Tarot card! :D
Peace,
Melvis

I dunno, I do remember Sarah Ovenall talking about the possibility of using it in readings, somewhere in the original thread about the decks (that thread is here: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2426&perpage=10&pagenumber=1 ) My printer driver is screwy and needs to be reinstalled after I replace my hard drive, so I won't be using the Happy Squirrel anytime myself unfortunately :| But I think you're in new unsowed territory here, Hudson, and I hope you will try it and tell us about it ;)

I was unable to get it to look like the card rest of the cards in. Stuck out like a sore thumb.
And yes, I wanted to use it in serious readings. After all – why not? Folks use a 25th Rune – so what’s the problem with a 79th card?
Even offered Sarah a substantial payment…denied…
Bummer…guess that’s the message of the Happy Squirrel.

HEHE great card...I traded my VR set away...hehehe...I would put the card in the deck....I take tarot seriously but..also..with anything in my life..You need a sense of humor and sometimes to lighten up...So I would use this card saying..Lighten up .....if it did pop up in a reading!! Yes things are low..but look at the silver lining..bright side...yada yada lol

how about doing the same thing the fortune teller did to lisa simpon? ergo: react violently when the happy squirrel shows up in readings! :)

I haven't downloaded it yet but until i read this thread I didn't know anything about it. If I could get it to match the other cards in size and thickness I would add it to the deck and see how it got on, still might download it for the fun of it lol :)

Well, as I recall, the VR comes with 2 extra significator cards. If you don't use those, then why not print out the Happy Squirrel and paste it to the front of one of the extra cards? That way, it would be the same size and cardstock of the others (including the back).
