I FINALLY RECIEVED IT! I've been waiting for the arrival of the Celtic Dragon Tarot Deck that my sister (alissa) was sending to me. It has finally arrived. I was going through and devouring them last night, and even stayed up late to go through the entire deck, feel their energy, and even did a reading as well as reading some of the book.
Something is weird though. I have a question.
I NEVER before relied on the book to tell me the meaning of the cards before. Usually I recieve the book, put it aside, and get to know the cards on my own. I had the H-R deck though for a little over ten years and parting with it was hard but the deck chose to go. In any case, I really despise turning to the book to understand the meanings, but I seem to be somewhat blocked when reading this deck that when I did a reading on myself last night, I HAD to resort to the book to understand most of the cards. Is this normal when recieving a new tarot deck? This is only really my second deck (although I've had others in the past,) but never had I replaced my main deck before.

It isn't necessary for all decks, but for this one, it might be a good idea to read the book that comes with it, just so you can have an idea where the author is coming from.

People have said that the meanings of the cards in this deck differ from those in other decks (I don't have this deck myself, yet......). So refering to the book is probably a good idea.

I am so excited that my sister's companion deck has connected to her on such a profound level so far! She and I have been talking about our connections to our decks, her Celtic Dragon to my Shapeshifter.
Radically different connections to our respective sister decks (;)), but still they are connections which are good to follow i think.
I'm loving hearing how a gift is so happily given to my sis is enriching her own life though! That in itself is a gift too I think.

Don't feel bad- a friend bought me this deck while on vacation in Austria- I have the Celtic Dragon Tarot in Czech! Hard to look up a meaning in a book you can't read!

Oh my, that would be rather annoying tarotbear.
I would like to share something with this deck that goes back to the first night that I recieved it.
When I first got it, I opened the deck and freed them from their packaging. First I went through the cards, but half way through, my son (whose only 12 days old as of today) woke up and was watching what I was doing. Now, let me go back just a little bit. I never before had dragons come or call to me. While I was pregnant with my son, I picked out the deck due to its calling to me. I did some meditations on it, and sure enough, the messages I recieved where that of it was time for me to learn more on who I am, and for the next lesson (spiritually) in my life, dragons will be apart of it, as well as, my son is a dragon spirit as well, at least that's what 4 dragons told me in a meditation while I was in labor with him. Now to go back to the night I recieved the deck. He was watching what I was doing as I went through the deck, soon he started squeeling telling me that he wanted to eat. So I put the cards down for a second, put him on my breast, cuddled him close as I smiled and kissed him, and as he was feeding I used one hand to continue to go through the rest of the deck. As my sis said "what a way to bond with the cards" and I agree! LOVE you Alissa!
