Does anyone here have the Dreampower Tarot? If so, what has been your experience in working with it? It's OOP now, but I'm intrigued with the art work on the majors and court cards. I'm curious as to whether anyone here has experience with it or not.

i have the dreampower and merlin by rj stewart. the imagery is intense and doesn't always fit logically to what you would anticipate in a tarot deck. i am on rj's group list and that's really helped me understand what's behind his cards. well, i take that back. i don't understand the cards but his philosophies behind his cards and other works are fascinating even though i still don't fully comprehend where he's coming from enough to post there. just to give you an idea, it's like the celestine prophesy by james redfield meets susan siddon boulet's visionary art meets tarot. i really have a hard time saying dreampower is tarot in the strictest form of the tarot--marseilles, rws or thoth. i think dreampower is a divinatory system unto itself. i don't recommend it to beginners or ppl who are strong linear organized thinkers who have difficulty seeing the whole forest b/c of the trees. i think it's better for artsy spatial space cadets who really don't belong one earth. ;) we tend not to see the trees b/c of the forest.
i'm not to a point that i'll try reading with either deck but i do try to keep up with the post in his web group. if you want a deck that takes a walk on the wild side in its own version of inner space, this one is for you.

Well, I found a couple of used decks/book sets on Amazon. One was $163 and the other was $28, so I ordered the cheaper one. I'm excited to be getting it and I think I'll enjoy exploring the ideas behind it. I agree that it's not really what you'd classify as tarot, but I thought it would be useful to me because of the art work on the court cards and majors, if nothing else.

i agree that it's an interesting deck. i happen to like it a lot b/c i enjoy unusual ideas and visionary art. some of the cards just gives my imagination take a leap of joy. if you'd like to join rj's group let me know. i think if you really get into the dreampower it will help you understand it better. i'm glad you found one for $28. $163 is way too much. i've been told that dreampower will be published again but rj doesn't know a definite date.

I think it would be very interesting to get into RJ's group, considering I'm going to have the deck and book as soon as it gets here. They were going to ship it today and the notice said it would get here by Dec. 24th. I'm going to be out of town the week beginning the 21st, so I hope it comes before I leave. I'm very anxious to have it.
