As I was going through the decks on the Isis website, I came across this deck. I really appealed to me. I was wondering if anyone else has used this deck and what they think of it.
I don't remember seeing a thread for this one or even seeing it
mentioned.
Has anyone used it before ????
I really liked the artwork on the sample cards, and I've always been interested in herbs and their uses. I just don't want to invest in this deck until a learn a little more about it.

Is this the Herbal tarot which looks very much like the RWS?

No sorry I`ve just found some images of it. Some of the cards look very much like the RWS but others don`t. I must say it looks very interesting. I`ll bet it`s a really good way of learning about the uses of herbs as well.

i have it and i like it a lot.
i know some people don't like the way the herbs are assigned though because the system has a lot more to do with medicinal uses then ritual magick. this is good to keep in mind when you buy it.
the art is simple but bold and rather pretty in a naïve way. the cards are often a lot more positive then in other decks. the devil is the playful Pan for example.
it is a non-threatening tarot. great to use for readings about healing. not that i would perhaps use and digest the herbs pictured, but it can give me ideas for making pouches or teas (if the herb is a safe herb of course)
one can be creative with it too. don't you know what herbs to grow next spring?
do a reading for your herb plot!
i used this deck as my only reading deck for at least three years so my copy is well loved to say the least:)
and i still don't have the book!

Thanks for the info. I really liked what I saw, it will probably join my collection eventually. I will probably have to wait until my birthday in May to get this deck, but I think it'll be well worth the wait.

I ordered the Vision Quest Tarot from Isis last Saturday and I haven't recieved it yet. About how long does it take for them to ship? They did have it in stock. I was upstate since Thurs. and hubby said that no packages came for me. So I can only assume that it hasn't arrived yet. Does it normally take that long ??

When my boys were very small and I was going crazy being cooped up at home, I fell into the herb world, gathered seeds and plants from all over the world. At that time, mid-fifties, herbs were seldom used medically, but I was entranced with these beautiful little plants which did so much to alleviate the blandness of the foods available on our limited budget.
When information on the medical usage of herbs became available in the seventies, I jumped on the band wagon. With the help of a PDR (Physicians Desk Reference) on herbal medicine my husband gave me one birthday, I really learned about them.
So when I saw an herbal tarot deck, I immediately ordered it. I kind of felt the gods would drum me out of the universe if I didn't.
For readings I like the deck immensely. It's kind of like a familiar pair of old shoes that I can always count on. Sometimes my other decks get tempramental and give me stuff I can't make head nor tails of. But not the herbal tarot. It's there when all others fail.
However, I don't much like the art work. It works, but I feel it lacking in depth and subtlety. It's more like comic book art -- all right there on top.
But I couldn't get along without the stability of the wisdom the cards cards themselves have for me.

I have been eyeballing this deck online for a while. I usually don't purchase a deck unless I feel a connection, so I have been waiting to find some in a store somewhere.

Isisunveiled:
you can most likely get the deck @ Barnes & Noble. I just got a gift card from my bro in Indy, so I know there are B&Ns in Indianapolis, at least. I've wanted this deck too.
