Debauched Decks!

I was speaking with Happiness about the rather debauched Garden of Penises tarot deck, and was wondering if there were any other similarly debauched decks out there! HEHE.

Any thoughts?

C :o)

The Garden of Penises sounds very interesting... :P

I haven't actually seen the Garden of Penises tarot but it sounds VERY debauched HEHE! And what an unusual name for a tarot deck. Happiness will have to post here and tell us all about it!!

Priapus DOES NOT translate to Penis, the deck really is just the garden of Priapus (whoever that may be) or at least thats what Ive been told

There are a number of erotic decks out there, if you meander over www.tarotgarden.com and look in the ri Valentines Day section I think you'll find most of them, like

Tarots of Casanova
Decameron Tarot
Tarot Druuna
Tarot Erotica
Manara:The Erotic Tarot

Doing a search for erotic you'll find the Priapus deck, and also Hafez Fortunetelling cards, which I find most scandalous considering half the cards have naked girld, but in the sample scans theres also a card depicting Jesus lol

:THP

Well, there have been some threads on this deck before....

However, unlike other erotic decks such as Casanova, which are nicely done, this one goes just a bit too far, even for me (or Wicce, she said the same thing).

There were no cards I could identify with, although I found 'Lover' card fun (a woman has to chose between a very handsome man with a tiny apendage, and his foil).

The yellow liquid in the flutes is not, as one might think, wine, but something quite different......This I think sets the tone for the deck. I'm not even sure if some of the scenes are even legal, and some are definately not possible!

No, not a deck for me, even though I bought it. I do like erotic decks, but I far prefer Casanova, or even Rohrig and Black.

However, it would act as a great icebreaker! Get them out at a party and watch peoples reactions!

Oh one thing, it was very nicely printed!

actually, from what i remember from mythology, Priapus was a God who was portrayed as a small man with a very large penis... :D

In which case then, 'Lover' card shows a girl chosing between 'David' and Priapus.

Thanks for the referral, Liliana!

Actually, we currently have 42 decks in our online database that we have classified as "erotic." To view them all at once, it's necessary to visit our advanced search page and select "Erotic" from the Category/Theme menu.

I just added a new one a couple of days ago -- the Tarots Cosmo.

It isn't a sexually explicit deck, but almost all of the court cards in the Classic Tarot from Lo Scarabeo have something of a depraved look about them: they seem rather fleshy, with flushed cheeks, and mildly disturbing eye language.

I think it's the way it's coloured. The Ancient Italian Tarot is based on the same deck, but the courts there are fairly normal.

I thought Priapus was the God of erections.

Osher  29 Jan 2003
Apparently Priapus was the Greek god of gardens, domestic animals and fruit. He was shown with a large, exposed, penis. He was considered a god of fertility. He later became more famous as the Roman god, of gardens, vineculture, soldiers, and fisherman. He was still a god of fertility, and again shown with a huge penis.

I believe Priapus was also a child of Venus.

Oh, and in the medical field, there is a condition called Priapism where, because of an injury, a man is cursed with a constant erection. :D
