Congratulations!
Hope its not out of line to say this? Don't mean to be rolllin' my own drum!
Just wanted to say that you might try just "playin' around with them in a sentence like fashion to begin a dialogue. Randomly chooose a card as a "subject" then try to figure out what the "cards want to talk about". Next choose a verb "action" card. Then choose another for a "place" or "tense" and possibly pull some "pronouns" for who is involved. If you can get a hint of the story line that the cards are presenting to you then you may want to proceed with another reading on that story using other classical layouts. Often, existence has a very different " question" to ask us and this is a way to get around the "mind" to find out what that question might be.
Recently I've been doing my client readings very differently. I ask the client to mix all the cards laying flat on the table by sliding them together into a pile. Then I placed the TDP silk scarf over the cards and just ask them to slip their hands under the scarf to draw cards. This makes good use of the scarf and takes the hassle out of shuffling these oversized cards! But do as you will.

No, you certainly are not... as a matter of fact, I am seriously considering your deck in that I know you, the creator are here to talk to. I just saw a deal on Amazon for the Durer and your Tarot de Paris, and I just may check it out.
Reds, glad to see you have your first deck, and I envy that experience again of seeing it anew... a wonderful experience. We are always here to offer any advice we can.
Peace!
