Nova and Spiral tarots...

I'm sure you've all heard me brag on my Spiral deck until you're sick of hearing about it, but I love this deck! I was given a reading tonight by a friend and she has a Nova deck. I didn't really realize until then how kind my deck is being to me. That deck is nearly impossible for someone like me, who is relying on intuition and mainly associating the images to their meanings, to use. What do you all think of the Nova?

I think Nova does a very good job with minamalist symbolism myself. Like the 4 of coins with the piggy, he's perfect. Some are bit odd, like the cowboy boot Emperor, but I can read Nova intuitively fairly easily.

Oh, don't get me wrong, the deck is beautiful in a very simplistic way, but it doesn't shout the way my Spiral does, at least not to me. It seemed as though my friend was having trouble with it, too, but then the deck can't be blamed for everything. She said she hasn't had much time to experiment with the cards and meanings. There were a few cards in the deck I was very partial to.

That's exactly what I love about the Tarot world, theres a deck for everyone

And dont get me wrong about the Spiral, it was my first serious learning deck and I absolutely adore the Princess cards :)

You're talking about the Tarot Nova, with simple cartoonlike drawings, right? I have a bit of a fondness for the deck, if I simply use the pictures and my intuition and simply ignore the meanings that the accompanying book gives. It was my very first deck - and it does look like a bit of a toy, and it gives nothing for meditiation. It's a simple tarot for simple issues, I suppose, and it will give you simple answers. It has more potential than people give it credit for, I suppose... but, being a beauty-oriented reader, whose intuition is triggered by the depth of the aesthetic, the Nova is a little bit limiting to me.
