:D I just can't help myself
I just want to gloat a little. The Thoth Deck came in as number 1!
I suspect there are a few closet Thoth users out there.

I feared a theme deck might win..worse I thought rider waite might win......but joy, Thoth has won. Well done Freda Harris and A.Crowley, winners in life and winners in death :-)

Hmm. Well, this year I'll buy a decent-sized Thoth deck and see what all the fuss is about!
And just think, next year, it's going to be a Tarot of Marseille that will win! *Diana dreams her dream and is happy*.

Mh.. yeah, well. Ok. :( *LOL*
But World Spirit came as number 5, that is not bad.
And Spiral as 7 that is the perfect number and MY number.
Apart from Haindl and Rider Waite, I don't think I can bother for the others - maybe I would have rather seen different names. E' la vita...

Diana, I have a Thoth deck which I just don't use. Would you like to try it? It is a full size one, I'm away for a few days now but if you pm me I can sort it out on your return.
I'm happy to send it to you, if you like it we can sort something out and if you don't then you can send it back to me (or on to someone who does like it). Or else buy another of your own, I don't mind.
It is a sad deck in need of a good home, it sits there and no-one uses it. I have 2 Thoth decks, I got rid of my very green one and tried again but I still can't get on with it.
Edited to say: It is in a large white box, it says 'Published and Distributed by Samuel Weiser Inc. Cards Printed in Belgium' on the top of the lid, and Booklet and Box printed in USA. It has the LWB 'Two essays by Lady Frieda Harris and foreword by S R Kaplan'. The cards have a green border, they aren't sick green like the US Games green deck. In fact, it is this one http://www.isisbooks.com/Details.asp?item=0877284520

Here are the results, for those who wish to see... I wonder, however, if there was an error in the counting - or maybe the Marseille did truly win, but some voted for the Hadar, others for the Camoin, others for the Conver, etc...;)
This year... how about an optional preferential voting format, rather than first past the post?

Hmmm... My "favourite" car is/was always a "Lotus Esprite" too })
OK, Du Calme! I'm not trying to be TOO imflamatory. Fwiw, I would like to see someone giving a few in-depth reading with all this card counting, dignities, bells and whistles stuff. Moi? In a few years, when I've FULLY understood all that stuff? ;) OTOH, maybe a demo of the technique(s) might be fun - I might give THAT a go if anyone would like...
Something I was toying with would be to produce a long linear spread of cards (such as might be produced in a classic Thoth reading) then just go through all the manipulations alluded to in the Book of Thoth? It might be interesting just to look HOW counting and dignity weights modify a "straight" reading reading of the cards from a more INTUITIVE reader? Perhaps an intuitive reader would help? Perhaps this is the basis for a coopertive project at some stage in the future? Perhaps? :)

I love looking at the top ten not just to get an idea of where my favs are, but to see something that might hitherto have escaped me.
I haven't read much with Thoth, though I am very attracted to it, and I have the big Swiss AG Muller cards. Three of my other decks are up there too: Osho Zen (MY fav), Sacred Circle, and Haindl. What I think was my "second look" deck was the Victoria Regina. I think I had a misconception of it as being a "Feminist deck," which I am not against, but which does not connect with me. I read the review and now I have this as a "back of my mind" possibility, something worth looking into.
Peace!

OHHHHHHHHHH Well ... I don't care what the results say the Cosmic Tribe is my 2002 winner. I think the Toth was a nice choice for #1 though. I was somewhat surprised to see that the Rhorig did not make the list.

Interesting to see Haindl at #9. I thought I'd read several posts that it was hard to read with.
That deck has been calling to me now for a few months. (Actually, so have the World Spirit, Sacred Circle and Shining Tribe. Just not as loudly.) I didn't see why anyone needed more than a deck or two but now, since I've been visiting this forum, I'm afraid I've contracted the disease, too.
