I missed the last reprinting of the Vertigo deck this past June. Crap. I understand the first reprint was on thinner board and not as nice as the original, that commands hefty prices on E-Bay. I'd like to get a copy of the Vertigo deck and wonder if it is still available at all? It seems odd that it goes into print and then almost immediately is no longer available! I think because it is published by a comic company, it is treated more like a comic title than a Tarot deck. That's the way comics are...if you don't grab them when they're fresh, you might have to pay a premium a few month's later buying it out of the back stock!
Does anybody know if this deck can still be had for a 'reasonable' price. Actually, I thought the $30 price tag (U.S.) was more than 'reasonable.' lol.
I've checked with bookstores (like Borders) and comic stores and nobody has been able to help me.
Does anybody here have any leads on this deck?

Yes, it's available, you just have to order it through a comic book store.
Check this article:

You can find comic book stores that carry it by going to www.google.com and typing in 'Vertigo tarot comic' and look at the URL's to see which are stores. I doubt Barnes & Noble would carry it, you have to go to a legit comic book store as they're the ones with the actual distributor catalogs. You could also try Bud Plant Comics (online, if they're still in business) they carried literally EVERYTHING.

I tried again at my local comic shop and the owner called two sources right before my very eyes (and I didn't see his finger on the receiver button, so he probably wasn't faking the calls!) Both sources were stone cold sold out. I went to write DC Vertigo and raise a ruckus, but Mr. Mail Daemon returned that rant before I had time to close my email program. I rarely buy online and wanted to exhaust other options first. I'm not sure why, but the publishers of this deck are choosing to keep it limited, or at least they did on that first printing. I read that they only released 5,000 decks.
Do you think the Tarot community could somehow impress upon them that not only comic aficiandos want this deck, but Tarot enthusiasts as well?

Bud Plant, Hill City Comics & two other major distributors say it's a sold out deck.

August 8, 2000 was the last issue of the deck, so it looks like Ebay is your only hope. I'd run across it once at the half price bookstore, but it was gone the next week. The book was $3 and the deck was $15. Ah well, here i thought it was still out and around for a time yet. Last year it was still available through 2 different stores -- I looked into getting one but decided not to. Since then I guess everyone has snapped it up.

On ebay, there are auctions with vertigo listed. The truthful seller will tell you the date of the release. I saw one listed with 1995 as the date...
If I find a DC Comics distributor to call, I'll post in this forum.
