Recently I was given a deck. A girl I met at IHOP didn't want her tarot anymore and gave them to me. I've been trying to search for more information on it, but I can't seem to find anything. The deck is Angel Tarot by Stuart R. Kaplan. I'm not sure, but there is a Author Stuart Kaplan that has been mentioned in several posts, often in relation to Marseilles decks (sorry if I spelled that wrong). I have the LWB, but I would like some more REAL information about this deck. Anyone have this deck? Or any information at all will help!

Hi sagitarian, here is a review I wrote of this deck:

Stuart Kaplan is the president of US Games, which published the deck. He probably wrote the LWB.

You don't urgently need further information with the Angel deck, assuming it's the same one I have seen. The trump cards are essentially an easily recognised variation of the Marseilles standard, with somewhat more attractive colouring. The pip cards are not Marseilles standard, but have been redesigned, and should be compatible with any numerological tradition.
If you're looking for a book to learn reading with this deck from, the book I prefer to use with this kind of deck is Gareth Knight's The Magical World of the Tarot. It's a visualisation based technique. Gail Fairfield's Choice Centered Tarot also has a good reputation; it breaks things down logically so that you don't have to rely on memorized meanings so much.
You have gotten yourself a deck based solidly on tradition, and that doesn't have much of a built in bias or belief system. You can choose such a deck later, but this is probably the best place to start.

thank you both for the help and information...I really appreciate it. I'll probably check out the local library to see if they have those books in ihcoyc. Currently I'm reading 78 degrees of wisdom.
