I would like to update the list, and make some corrections, but I have questions.
How many decks are there that are some version of “Universal”?
Should I try and sort decks by sizes? Or would that just confuse the count?
I have been leaving out all oracle decks listed. Would folks be interested in seeing those as well?
How many Art Nouveau decks are there? I get the idea there is Matt Myers and a Lo Scarabeo deck but is there another?
Is Baphomet, Gieger Baphomet and Balbi Baphomet the same deck?
Is Tarot of Baseball and Baseball tarot the same thing or two different decks?
What does Dead mean? Is there a Dead tarot? Is this an oracle? A joke?
Celtic…. Arrrrggghhhh… there must be 5 or 6 variations on this.
Are Cosmic tarot and Cosmic Tribe tarot the same deck or different decks?
There definitely appear to be two Enchanted decks… could anyone who listed them go back and specify? Please, sniff
Okay, Fairies (Luptelli), Fairy, Fairy Wicca and fairy tarots. All different?
Karma cards (presumably and oracle) vs Karma Tarot (for real?)
I have assumed that Peterson and Margarete Peterson are the same deck. Tell me if I am wrong.
Marseilles… arrrggghhh
One person wrote new Age which I recorded but am now wondering if it might have been Neuzeit. Is there a new Age tarot?
Renaissance: three decks, right… Lo Scarabeo, Lyle and Williams. Tell me if I am wrong.
Two Secret Tarots… Lo Scarabeo, and Lyle… right?
Visconti, Visconti-Sforza, Visconti gold. One deck? Two decks? Three different decks?
Vision vs Vision Quest?? Same deck or not?
help....

Marion, I'm not going to be much help here. But you have cheered me up no end! You're far better than any aspirin or cough medicine!
I wish you the best of luck and hope you still have some hair left on your head once you've finished pulling at it!

*I have been leaving out all oracle decks listed. Would folks be interested in seeing those as well?*
Yeah sure!!! Especially the God(des)s oriented ones! :D
*Is Baphomet, Gieger Baphomet and Balbi Baphomet the same deck?*
Baphomet and Gieger are, the other I have no idea actually never heard before of it.
*Is Tarot of Baseball and Baseball tarot the same thing or two different decks?*
Two different ones - and I will get both. :D *LOL* One has soft artwork, the other is a RW caricature.
*What does Dead mean? Is there a Dead tarot? Is this an oracle? A joke?*
Tarot of the Dead, in the list in Aaclectic as well.
*Celtic…. Arrrrggghhhh… there must be 5 or 6 variations on this.*
Never counted...
*Are Cosmic tarot and Cosmic Tribe tarot the same deck or different decks?*
You shouldn't be asking such questions! Where's the tarot-holic in you??? *LOL*
*There definitely appear to be two Enchanted decks… could anyone who listed them go back and specify? Please, sniff*
Truthsayer shall help. I believe it deals with sizes and images.
*Okay, Fairies (Luptelli), Fairy, Fairy Wicca and fairy tarots. All different?*
And add the Fae and Faerie-related Oracles (two at least)
*Karma cards (presumably and oracle) vs Karma Tarot (for real?)*
RIGHT.
*I have assumed that Peterson and Margarete Peterson are the same deck. Tell me if I am wrong.*
Maybe?
*Marseilles… arrrggghhh*
ROFLMAO The only ones that could help you are Jmd, Diana, catboxer and few others...
*One person wrote new Age which I recorded but am now wondering if it might have been Neuzeit. Is there a new Age tarot?*
I believe it's the same deck.
*Renaissance: three decks, right… Lo Scarabeo, Lyle and Williams. Tell me if I am wrong.*
Yep!
*Two Secret Tarots… Lo Scarabeo, and Lyle… right?*
Alleggedly... I have no idea?
*Visconti, Visconti-Sforza, Visconti gold. One deck? Two decks? Three different decks?*
I think it's even more than three actually...
*Vision vs Vision Quest?? Same deck or not?*
NOPE two decks. ;)

The Lyle Renaissance and the Lyle Secret are the same deck, with a different title.
I suggest you forget about different size versions of the same deck. One has to draw the line somewhere. :)
My suggestion is to consider the Visconti as two decks; "Visconti" and "Visconti-Sforza" would be the USGames large-size reproduction, and "Visconti Gold" would be the Lo Scarabeo deck that's hot-stamped with gold.

How many Art Nouveau decks are there? I get the idea there is Matt Myers and a Lo Scarabeo deck but is there another?
These are the only two I know of. However, I have a related question about the Lo Scarabeo deck. The title on the box is "Tarot Art Nouveau", but the English title[1] on the title card is "Primavera Tarot". Why wasn't this title used on the box? If nothing else it would help distinguish it from Matt Myers' deck, and it seems odd to me that the English edition wouldn't use the English title!
Felicity
[1] I assume this is the English title based on the order of languages on the cards themselves. Italian is at the top, followed by English, French, German, and Spanish. "Tarot Art Nouveau" would in fact appear to be the German title.

ahh, marion... I never enjoyed clerking skills myself, gives me a headache just thinking of it... Anyway, to throw more into the mix: I have been updating my list of decks by editing my original post, not adding a new post with new acquisitions. I don't know if this helps or not. I guess it depends on whether you go back to the beginning or if you start from the post you left off at. Perhaps you could start a new thread where guidelines for posting our lists is standardized (i.e. specifying deck publishers alongside the actual deck, and asking for full names of decks rather than nicknames.) Your survey is wonderful, but I see it is getting to be a royal pain in the pattuti to you...
Peace!

There's a third Universal deck, the Universal Tarot by Maxwell Miller, a deck whose theme is world religions.

Your questions are difficult, as the choices you make do affect how things are perceived.
For myself, I would prefer to see how many have, for example, a Visconti-type deck, rather than trying to sort through who has which type (Visconti-Sforza vs Visconti Gold), likewise for the Marseilles varieties - if someone has the Conver reproduction published by the Camoin House, or by LS, or by Héron, or has the Hadar, are all interesting details, but of greater significance is how many have a(ny) Marseilles!
Likewise deck sizes - certainly they are different in one sense, as are, for that matter, the Swiss and the German prints of the large Crowley/Harris Thoth AGMüller decks. These, however, though very useful for cataloguing collections, is probably not as useful to get a sense for which seem popular decks... assuming, of course, this is part of the purpose of the list.
I've probably thrown more spanners in the works than helped... :):):)
...but it has given me an idea for another poll-thread...

i wouldn't sort them by sizes, but i'm very interested in the oracle decks!!!
i don't know if there exist a balbi baphomet tarot, but the 'balbi tarot' exist, mayby it's a mistyping/misunderstanding :) (balbi tarot: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/balbi/index.html)
and baphomet and giger tarot is the same (baphomet: tarot of the underworld = giger tarot)
i hope you get out of this mess ;)
with love.

If there are any tarotholics out there who don't have a Marseilles deck in their collection, then they are not real tarotholics.
*Diana keeps a wary eye out for any fake tarotholics* :D
Bet you didn't know I was a member of the T.I.A. (Tarot Intelligence Agency, for those who don't know - but of course, if you're a REAL tarotholic, then you also know what the T.I.A. is.)

~giggles~ I have to disagree ... I do not own a Marseilles (almost did, but when it got here from France I sent it to Faunabay *LOL*) ... and I think my taroholic affliction is beyond contestation ~giggles madly~

I guess I'm not a real tarotholic, then. I only buy decks I find attractive, and I think the Marseilles is U-G-L-Y! :)
If I were to start buying decks for their historical significance (something I'm trying to avoid doing for the sake of my wallet), I would naturally want a Marseilles in my collection, but it would never be a deck I would enjoy looking at.
