i got the gendron cards because i loved the colours and artwork. they work ok but .. all this goddess stuff is gettin on my nerves annnoyin me to hell. its too slanted, too feminine. i just wanted to moan about it ! but i still like the art...

well, it does say on the box that it is a deck "inspired by the sacred feminine"
personally i don't like the art in the majors much at all. too cramped and distorted for my taste. it got the ugliest hierophant i ever seen and an emperor in drag.
but i don't see much of the Goddess cult in the minors - and they are a lot prettier then the majors too.

You hate the majors but love the minors??? That's different! My feelings are the exact opposite of yours - I loathe the Pentacles and the floating head in the Two (or was it Three?) of Swords...

*LOL*
i know. but look at the 8 and 10 of swords. they really nail some aspects of the cards in a new way.
the kings i don't like much though.
and perhaps that hippie in the two of pentacles is a bit too much;)
but generally i do like the minors a lot better.
it is unfortunate that the art is so distorted in some cards.
just look at the lovers. what is up in the right corner there?
it does have one of the best towers i have seen though.
but all in all i am not overly impressed with it. it took me several month to warm up to. i don't think i have any other deck i devoted so much time and energy on getting to know better - to no real avail. we are still strangers me and gendron. but... i still keep it, refusing to give up on it:)

i can see where you are coming from about it being heavy in the feminine but really gendron isn't as bad as motherpeace and daughters of the moon. those are a bit radical. the goddess by kris waldorf isn't radical but feminine based. then there's the tarot of the crone and one more self-published goddess style. it seems to be a trend.
i prefer the majors of the gendron best.
