I confess, ever since I saw that the queen of cups on the Neuzeit Tarot has the chemical symbol for LSD on it, I had to have this deck. So.............I finally got it! It is definitely a trippy deck. It's copyright is 1982, and the LWB is yellowed even though the celophane was sealed. It is very intricate, and colorful, modern and strange. The minors are pip cards, but there are so many pictures and symbols within and around the swords or cups etc. All the wands are curly stick type figure creatures. The female squiggly-sticks have breasts. The landscape is filled with disembodied hands and eyeballs. The court cards have all kinds of symbols and words.
The little white book is something else, perhaps it came from another planet?
The 9 of swords:
" The key to awareness in the nutrition sphere. Connection with biology and ornamental plants. The ninth sword knows all the ways and means of healing. "
and divinatory meaning:
"Advice from an old wise man. Old family objects are given a new meaning. Practical advice given in old books. Successful healing of friends. Accept the trust put in you by strangers.Collect the right plants. Pass on remedies.
or what about
The 5 of swords:
"Parents hand down their knowledge and talents to their children. Together they form the instinct of conscious and unconscious action."
divinatory meaning:
Don't underestimate yourself! New possibilities are opened up.Seek advice from ancestors. Depend on reason! Obtain security in matters of inheritance."
7 of cups:
"Vehicle of creative ideas and secret animal powers as well as of their expression in the seven colors. "
divinatory meaning:
"Strong artistic talents, also in the fashion world. The world of theater and the circus. Good mountain guide, ecologist."
Perhaps it was translated from german and some of the coherance of meaning was lost? Or perhaps the author was on a very strange trip indeed and felt like writing it down?!
I could toss the LWB , but I think I'll keep it for it's quaintness, kind-of like one of those really bad dream interpretation books!
I love the deck itself though. The majors seem to be telling a story of our world complete with armageddon. The courts each have their own opinion, and the minors are just a trip!
