I am wondering what you all think of the Diamond tarot.. here are 2 links to check them out a bit..

I have them and love them, for a Rider Waite deck. I am very much into 60's psychedelic art, love the artwork of Peter Max, and this deck reminds me of a Peter Max type art deck! Does anyone else own this deck and, if so, what are your thoughts and how well do they work for you in readings?

I have this deck - and love it! it took me a long time to decide if I should buy this one, and I am really glad I did :) I find the cards especially nice for meditation and focusing energy. I especially like the Star and the Aces in the deck. This deck has a vibrant energy.

i don't have it but it sure looks pretty
i always liked the waite-smith deck a lot and this is basically those images set in a slightly psychadelic frame, is it not?
i will keep my eyes open for it the next time i buy a deck!

Ah... it is, alas, my lot in life to be a dissenting voice... :P Well, sometimes anyway... :D
The Diamond Tarot is a beautiful deck to be sure... with vibrant colors added to the original RWS images as well as the beautiful borders. However... it is these very borders which turned me off of the deck. When I first looked at the scans here on Aeclectic Tarot (Diamond Tarot) I was struck by their beauty and wanted to look at them in person. However, when I picked them up and started looking at them in the store, I decided they were not for me. The borders actually ended up being the main problem. To me, the very vibrant colors and busy artwork of the borders detracted and distracted from the images of the cards themselves. Secondly, because of the size of the borders, the images of the cards themselves are drastically reduced, to me an undesired result. I felt that the borders would hinder my ability to do readings with this deck (my personal opinion).

Hi,
I had the diamond deck, but I traded it..not smart..
The only thing I dislike about the deck is the size..I keep hoping they will come out agian in a larger size...
The boarders are wonderful..I am beginning to LOVE decks with interesting boarders. In the Sacred Circle deck the borders are an important part of the card to me..
Pathwork is wonderful with this deck, so if anyone out there hates it and has it, wants to trade for a bag or my new spreadcloth thingy (anyone got a cute name..thats another thread..lol), let me know.

I have the Diamond, it was given to me by a friend who knew I liked Rider Waite clone decks - This is one of my easier decks to enter mainly because of the borders. It reads as well as my Waite but the insides of the cards are small. Its a nice size deck too, small enough to be carried around :)

I'm very fond of my Diamond Deck. I laid the whole Deck out on my desk when I first had it, with the resulting effect of a beautiful and mesmerising stain glass window.
As I've said elsewhere, I'm surprised actually that more people don't own this deck. I understand what people say about the boarders but I don't think it's too much of a problem if you know the cards well. One thing worth noting is that, although small, the details of the images have been kept very sharp, as opposed to some reworkings where the faces practically diminish away altogether. It's also worth noting that the images themselves are deceptively sober in their recolourisation, most of the new colour is in the boarder leading up to each image. What each image is given is a very distinctive sky, always well chosen to blend into the image and bring it out in a vibrant way.
The Two of Swords is a beautiful example - which has kept things very simple.
The Eight of Swords has a fantastically foreboding darkening sky (as does the five of cups) and as for the Nine of Pentacles... well what can I say?

The art is very pretty and I like the LWB as well. In fact, it is a very pretty little package and very much a nice Spring gift.
Hope you enjoy it if you decide it works.
