hi!
i got the haindl deck from an amazon zShop. perfect condition but LWB missing ... :-(
so i have a few questions to those who own this deck and its lwb : how is the lwb like ? is it thick and useful ? is it written by pollack as well ? is it legal to have it photocopied if i could work a deal out with someone who owns the deck ? does this thread belongs here anyway ??? ;-) and where the heck did i leave my car keys ????? :-D
ok, if you have answers to one or more of these questions, please write ...

I suggest that if you read with this deck, that you get the books that Rachel Pollack wrote to go with it. They are definately worth it!

the LWB for the haindl deck is actually two books, one for the Major arcana and one for the pip cards. they are both by rachel pollack. i think both are worth reading, especially as rachel knew the haindl's and traveled with them and talked with him as he was creating this deck.
love and blessings,

The Haindl's little white book I have is actually a tradeback softcover that's 204 pages long, not a tiny thing--I got it as a book/deck set. However, the two other books she wrote are the better way to go, much more info is given in the larger books (one for Majors, one for Minors). But if you want the tradeback that comes with the deck/book set the ISBN number is 1-57281-220-6. It's from US Games, 1999. Price is $12. (Mine didn't have a LWB in with the cards for some reason, was it supposed to?)

The LWB that I got with my Haindl is a 21 page explanation of each card "based on" the books by Rachel Pollack. I did buy the two books, which go into greater depth on the rich symbolism used here. I would suggest perhaps contacting U.S. Games and see if they will send you a file for the LWB, or a new LWB. I haven't done this with U.S. Games, but I did get a second hand Celtic Tarot from Lo Scarabeo, which had an LWB all in German, and they sent me a pdf file of the LWB in English. Might be worth a try. I would whole heartedly suggest getting the two volumes by Pollack on the majors and minors.
Peace!

Hello,
I just thought I'd add that there is a third Pollack book on the Haindl. It's called the Readers Handbook and contains both Majors & Minors, and explores using them for readings. It has a bit on the correspondences (hebrew letter, rune & I Ching), a bit about the picture and a bit on suggested interpretations/themes. Hope this is of use,
Martin
