Hi all,
I just got this from Pamala Steele: Hello All,

"This I got from the 'new' Products Manager at Carta Mundi/AGMuller. This has been going on for over a year. I have had many promised from this lady and none were kept, so I don't expect much. I know the other publishers will not accept any new material this late in the year as their ques will be full. I will, however, contact other publishers with inquiries and hopefully have better news soon. Anyone tired of waiting please let me know and I will take your name and address off the list. I do apologize for the delay. I had no idea when I submitted the deck to Carta Mundi it would be like this.

Sincerely,

Pam Steele

Dear Silvia,

I do not have the phone numbers to reach you. Also, I was at INATS for 2 years which is when I met Luc Mertens and Michael Szul, both with Carta Mundi, who previewed my deck, along with everyone else at that show, and they asked me to send it to Christa. Over 5,000 people were interested in purchasing this deck at that show alone. When I got home there was an e-mail from Christa asking to review the deck. I sent the CDs and she assured me it was perfect, just before she resigned. That is all I know about who thought what about the deck.

I do know Tarot. I apprenticed under various Tarot Masters for 5 years and I've been a professional reader for almost 25 years and the inquiries I get regarding the deck are from other professional readers who want this deck for their own use and have been approched by numerous tarot web sites around the world who want to promote this deck on their sites. The global response to this deck has far outreached my original expectations. As Carta Mundi inquired first, I sent the CDs there first. As a courtsey I have told others (i.e. Llewellyn) interested in publishing that they would have to wait until I heard from Carta Mundi as to not create any conflict. It took me a year to regain the English rights to this deck from the original publisher as after meeting with him personally I found his ethics on tarot questionable.

I am also very busy. With this deck being put on hold for so very long I am in no financial position to travel this year. I am currently holding 2 full time jobs, as a Tarot reader and as a Holistic healer, to keep a roof over my head as the economy is extremely slow. Therefore I will not be attending INATS West this year.

I appreciate your time and attention, but if your company is not interested in publishing please return the CDs. It is too late this year to approach another publisher as their publishing ques are filled. I will have to start over again for next year.

Sincerely,

Pam Steele

would you call me today!!??

i know you can't imagen how i must feel,
even not have enough time to have make
one long telephone call abroad.
that will not say i am not thinking about
you and your situation: i feel sad about
this continuation.-(

and i am just running around for the projects
we have in plannifiation - you can't know that i have
even get all the project's from urania edition!
it is great having so much responsibility. but getting
into the job, travelling to carta mundi in belgium,
changing the whole standard in here - that takes all
a lot of time, who nobody will see at the end.

i think also, it wasn't ok from the site of agm
holding you so long in contact without getting
more serious.

i would ask you if you coul'd come to the INATS
this june!!! Your are living in Alberta, if it could be
possible that we can meet each other, it would
be te best.
You must know, our lector hasn't found your
project important to follow up. that's why christa
hesitatet. and now is me in this situation.
in the evenings i study much about tarot and look
at set's we have in contract, so that i have more and more
a real own opinion. i visit also this afternoon a
famous esoteric shop and wanna presentate your
work. because i am also not that .

In the future, we will print more and more tarot deck's,
but i wanna do them with love and not with pressure.
for this year and probably also for spring and summertime
04 we are full.

i must go on and prepare just in a few ours the london book
fair and back next wednesday. "

Is there anything we can do?? Does anyone know how this works..if we bombard the publishers with requests for this deck do you think it will help?

I WANT THIS DECK!!@!@!

In book publishing the editor either does or doesn't follow through, there is no limbo. If she can't get a satisfactory answer fairly quickly, I see no reason why Pam Steele needs to put her life & deck on hold any longer. Tell them the deal is null & void, the deck is being submitted to other publishers at this date to get it out to the public. She's lost 2 years of promo she could be doing on the deck, why wait longer? IMHO.

It sounds this Bachman lady does not know a good deck when she sees one, or much about tarot for that matter. She doesnt sound nice or professional. She sucks! I can't imagine Pamela's frustration. She should submit her deck to any publisher she can find. Someone has to be smart enough to publish her deck. I want that deck more than any deck I have seen to date!

What is this deck you're all crazy about? LOL, could someone tell me where I could find some examples?

memily2000  28 Sep 2003
Hi Melanie,
I've been checking with other publishers, so far not one is accepting submissions. Ratz!!! So I will prepare presentations and begin again after the first of the year. I really appreciate your moral support. This will happen. It's all a matter of timing.
Namaste,
Pam

Hello Pamela,

My name is Melanie Emily and I just wondered if you are having any luck
finding a publisher for your Steele Wizard deck? So many of us want that
deck sooo bad! I can't imagine the frustration you are having getting it
published. Carti Mundi are idiots. It really is a wonderful deck. If you
have an update I would love to let your fans on Aeclectic.net know.

Thank you and good luck,

Melanie Emily
