Hi everyone!
I don't buy tarot decks very often - I'm not a collector or anything like that, but I like the look of the Old English Tarot and was wondering if anyone else has the deck? If so, what do you think of it and what has been your experiences with it so far? Is there anyone who uses it as their main deck for readings?
Thanx in advance,

I really like my Old English. I haven't read with it in awhile, but then again I haven't spent much time reading lately. Getting back into the habit though! :) (and "not reading" didn't stop me from aquiring new decks!)
It has a fairly sweet nature, though it can, every once in awhile, be a bit grim.
The pictures are pretty and non-threatening.
It's biggest drawback are the minors. Pips with small illustrations that don't follow RW. You may need to spend a little time getting comfortable with the minors if RW is what you are used to.
But that said, I love my OE. It's a favorite! It isn't my main reading deck; that honor still belongs to my Universal Waite!
Out of the 20 or so decks that I own, the OE is probably in my top 5 favorite decks. It was also one of my first decks.

I like the deck, and I use it for readings about one-third of the time. It reads in a very friendly way, but not so that it isn't honest. I like the style of the pips, with a scene form old England at the bottom of each otherwise plain pip-stlye card. I think that makes it good to learn on, because you have a guiding picture, and you also have the plain pip so once you learn it you could use any deck. Granted though, the scenes can be somewhat limiting.
The deck appeals to me because of the colors, the art style, and the images. One thing I was dissappointed with is that some of the figures, especially ones who are sitting, look a little out of proportion or something, something is a little off about them. Other than that, I really like the deck.
It is not a good deck to meditate with, and to really "feel" though, I guess it is kind of casual that way.

I really like this deck too. I've just lately begun to read with it because I know enough to be able to manage without the illustrations on the pips now.
It is a little like the Marseilles when you're not having a Marseilles.
It is a very gentle deck - agreeing with the comment made earlier.

Hi catwoman,
I get 20 results when I do a search using "old english" words in the "Search titles only" with the "search forums" option. Worth trying if you want to get a precise opinion of this nice deck (IMO).

The Old English is great, one of the best midieval themed decks you can get. Its traditional and very 'genuine'. I am not that enthused about the minors, but otherwise its a great deck!

I like the artwork on the Old English Tarot a lot, but I have one major pet peeve. The Majors are clearly based on the Tarot of Marseilles, so why doesn't the deck follow the Marseilles order (i.e. Justice 8 and Strength 11)? Are all US Games decks required to follow the Waite-Smith order?
