If I could have any deck in the world, imagined of course, this would be it:
Janis Joplin tarot
Peter Max tarot (altho "Diamond Tarot" is pretty similar!!)
The Summer of Love tarot
Fillmore Rock Poster tarot
Harold and Maude tarot (based on the movie of same name.. am actually considering this as a tarot idea to create if I can get permission).
Tarot of the Former Child Stars
Who else has tarot wishes of what they would love to see?? :) C'mon and be a "Fool" and have fun with this! :)

OK, since there's Marvel, Hello Kitty, Gummibears, etc.. how about a R. Crumb Tarot (underground comic artist from the sixties love generation).

(1) a de-Thelemized, decent Thoth deck clone
(2) a tarot deck based on Slavic mythology
(3) a Golden Dawn deck which has good art, follows Book 'T' (but no hands floating in the air please), and has Golden Dawn colour scales (as used in Gill Tarot and in DuQuette deck)
(4) a mass-produced photoreproduction of the particular version of the 1910 Rider deck that has colours similar to the 1971 US Games Rider-Waite deck.

An Oswald Wirth deck designed by someone who has actually studied his absolutely fascinating book. The US Games one has mistakes in it.

And a Picasso tarot. Or a Joan Miró tarot.

I would like to see a Lord of the Rings-deck, where the hobbits don't wear shoes and Gollum is not the fool (as in the LOTR-deck that is now available).
I would like one with pictures from the movie and our own tarotgollum on the back of the cards :D
But I remember we already discussed this in another thread once.
Another idea:
a tarot with scenes from well-known commercials. This would not be an international tarot as every country has his own commercials - but what the heck, the deck would break so many copyright-laws and other laws that this deck would never see the light of day anyway.
And I would like a deck with a recipe on every card. Not really for reading maybe, but you take fate into your own hands by cooking your favourite card.
Or if you don't know what to eat just ask your deck ;)

An edible Tarot... Made out of food... And food that relates to the actual card meanings!
I think I will actually make one... In the Summer holidays, and take photos of it... Jelly babies will obviously feature quite heavily in it, as we need people in our cards...
A Tarot made entirely out of silver, with coloured enamel to give it colour, and precious gemstones embedded in it here and there... A veeery expensive Tarot deck! One day, when I am rich and fmaous (;)) I will commission somebody to make it for me... }) What a great collector's deck!
A Tarot Deck deck... Let me think... The PoMo Tarot for the Fool card, the Crowley-Thoth for the Magician, the Rider Waite for the Hierophant, The Lovecraft for the Moon, Manara for the Devil? Motherpeace Round for the Empress, The Tarot of Transformation for Judgement... I must stop here, or I'll get carried away!
The Tarot of University Students. Need I say more?
The Mabinogion Tarot: A deck based on the Welsh text which records the myths of the pre-Christian Welsh deities.
Teen Tarot: (Please don't hate me!) A Tarot deck aimed at teens, with the traditional acrhetypes transformed in a recognisable way into arcehtypes they are more likely to understand. For instance, instead of a pope as the Hierophant... A school teacher? A Father as the Emperor? So many teenagers are limited by bad representations of archetypes in the traditional Tarot deck. (How many teens do you know who can relate to a pope in a good way, or in a way that involves teaching?)
A Harry Potter Tarot: I know there are at least two of these in progress, but I'd be interested to see if Rowling would actually give permission to get it published.
So, that's my imaginary Tarot wishlist!
Kiama
Ps: Wolfspirit, there is a Tarot deck with a recipe on each card: Epicurean Tarot!

She has sold her rights to the Harry Potter name to Warner Brothers. :( So you'd have to ask them. And I doubt they'd give permission - there must be a bunch of fundies running around their place, I imagine. (Some people would sell their very soul to the devil for a fist full of dollars.)

ah yes a Robert Crumb tarot .... but I think it would be more fun if it related to his dysfunctional family.
For myself, I think a Koyaanasquatsi deck would be interesting, and maybe a Zhang Yimou of epic proportions, or even a Werner Herzog/Klaus Kinski deck.
All merry thoughts, hehehe

How did I not remember this one for my list? I've been talking about one of these for ages... I haven't actually seen any around the web, which is surprising since Winnie-The-Pooh is so popular...
:(
Kanga could be the Empress
Tigger... The Sun cuz of his happy disposition?
Eeyore... Something depressing... The Moon?
Owl: The Hierophant
Pooh: He's a complex character, so I'm not entirely sure...
Piglet: Strength, without a doubt!
Christopher Robin: The Emperor
Roo: Fool?
And the events in the books could be cards too... What would Pooh Sticks be? (Other than a very valid divinatory tool in itself!)

I think a set of miniature Pooh sticks should come with the deck, and they should be the size of toothpicks, for Umbrae's toothpick/pooh stick readings, hehehe or they could be wands?
And of course Hunny pots could be cups, 9 Swords/Moon together should depict Heffalumps and Woozels .......
What about the gofer/mole? Should he be the Chariot? Rabbit? Should he be the Magician, growing his carrots? Carrots could be a suit too, heheh
EEYORE must be the TOWER, his house is always tumbling down.
ohohoh, I know, the upturned umbrella could be the 6 Swords.....
Pooh is the Star, always optimistic and hopeful.....
just some thoughts, I'll calm down now and stop eating so much sugar, heheh

I want a deluxe engraved version of the Marseille deck. (The Della Rocca decks come pretty close, but not quite!)
I want a Giotto deck, and a Pre-Raphaelite deck.
And if someone actually makes the Egyptian Cat Goddess Tarot of the Celtic Feminist Gypsies from Atlantis, I'll probably buy it.

Oh hell yeah, who wouldn't? ;)
Hey, maybe this can be another Summer project for me alongside the Edible Tarot? }) Let me see... How many Tarot Traditionalists can I really annoy by creating this deck....?

In my endeavor to learn the tarot, i was thinking what modern symbols would best represent the card. The modern deck would go for the "spirit" of the card, rather than the obvious. For instance, The chariot, rather than showing a car (which doesnt help much) might show a mother controlling two unruly children fighting over a toy. (Finding mastery over two opposing forces) or the magician would show a teacher standing in front of his class. before him on the table would be representations of the four suits in the form of a laser pointer (wands) a pair of scissors or a scalpel (swords) a beaker (cups) and maybe a dissection plate (disks).

I want a real Salvador Dali tarot deck, using some of his published artwork rather than that seemingly slapped together sketch and collage deck he created. I actually bought a book of Dali artwork with the intention of choosing pieces to be different cards.

Remedios Varo Tarot
Leonora Carrington Tarot
Susan Seddon Boulet Tarot
(Just some of my favorite artists...)
By the way, there is a tarot deck with recipes on it. It's called the Epicurean Tarot. It's illustrated with pictures from the Universal Waite deck, and it is for sale on Amazon, among other places.
Oh, and how about a deck based on W. B. Yeats? I've never really read his work much, but seeing as he was a member of the Golden Dawn, you'd think someone would have made a deck based on his books by now...

I spent many summers in Atlantic City working the arcades and piers. One of the things that everybody went into was the good old fun house. and so, here's my proposition--
ten rooms. deal out your reading (celtic cross of course-- not from any preference, just that ten is a nice number)-- start through the rooms. each room a holographic representation of the card, complete with motion and sounds (I'm assuming unlimited money here...) but, like the good ole funhouse, the way out of each room is not always apparent....
Step right up and walk trhough your fortune...
fly well
