I’d like to chat about this deck for a bit.
The images are wonderful, haunting… The images on the minors, do not follow the Waite progression, but the Marseilles progressions – sort of.
It follows my ‘meaning’ progression exactly…
Although this deck at first appears ‘dark’, the images themselves are quite ‘light’.
I cannot recommend this deck enough…it is undeniably – the best deck I have encountered in years.
It is not available in the U.S. It is not inexpensive – but you get what you pay for.

It looks interesting. Can you explain your statement further? I've never actually seen this deck.
How do you find working with them. What advantages does this deck offer you over others (examples)?

You have to type in the tarot deck's name in the search box on the first URL, it comes up right away then.
They say it's 'available' but needs to be ordered. No mention of a price on it. Bet it's over $50, right?

I like the black backgrounds, don't like colours. Colour is very important, gold induces a nauseus response in me due to a childhood bout with the 'flu.
What are the card dimensions please?
Thanks

Oh my goodness me. A Polish deck. How exciting. Didn't know there was a Tarot interest there - the Catholic church is so powerful.
Too black for me though....... :(

I had trouble finding the foreground from the background at first ... and I liked it! It made me go into psychic vertigo very quickly.
Is that a pastel chalk on the black backgrounds, as a medium?

When I checked just now it said "Unavailable / use our search service if you desire assistance with finding this title." But they currently have one on eBay for a starting bid of $49.95.

Tarot Garden actually has 8 decks from Poland in their database. Go to Advanced Search:
http://www.tarotgarden.com/database/dbsearchadv.html
Then select "Poland" from the menu marked "Country of Publication".
I own one of them, the Jasniak Tarot, which I find quite stunning.

I really like the scans of this deck. I didn`t like the gold at first, I`m not too good with gold but the images are so powerful. Particularly liked that 9 wands.

Wow, I really like this deck, the dark backgrounds and imaginative images. Thank you Umbrae for posting about it. Wish I could see more cards.

As I am still in the process of trying to catch up and keep up with the backlog of emails accumulated during my recent (wonderful!) trip to Portland, I just caught this thread. Also, as luck would have it, I just received a reply yesterday from one of my Polish suppliers regarding my inquiry into a reorder of the Swietlistej Drogi Tarot.
Normally, I'd order about 5 copies, as the price being offered to me puts the resale price in about the US$ 75 range. However, if I can "up" the order a bit, I might be able to get a better price point. To be honest, I don't think there's even a remote chance I can get it down below the US$ 50 range at this point, but if anyone is interested in a "show of hands" on this item, I can see what I can "finiggle" by way of a discount.
Interest? Comments?

The Polish don't have a long tradition with Tarot as it was not something that one did in the time of communism. However, since the Iron Curtain has gone down, Tarot in Poland is starting to really flourish and many exciting and new decks are being published there. I have several ones already, all found them through the net and most of them can indeed be found in the database of Tarotgarden.
The Polish decks that I know of that exist right now are:
Swietlistej Drogi Tarot (the dark one this thread is about)
Jasniak Tarot
Tarot Polski
Terapia Slovem Tarot
Lezark Duszy (which is the early edition of the Terapia)
Tarot Magow (out of print)
Most of the following are also in the database and are all from the same artist Beata Marchinkowska and/or her husband:
Mistic Tarot
Antic Tarot
Sara Tarot
Beata Marchinkowska Tarot
Tarot Klasnyska (Classic Tarot)

Now that I've seen this deck I want it! It's artwork is what inspires me, as the light drawings on black backgrounds work inside out for my mind and really spark my intuition. There are a lot of symbols all over the cards that speak out as well.
The large size is the only thing that I wonder about. I suppose I will just have to get used to them (tee hee)!!
