hi everyone,

i wanna get a rider waite deck that's abt poker card size. i saw so many on the net that i am absolutely baffled which is the one that i want.

Also, what do u guys think of the "compete guide to tarot" by Juliet Sharman-Burke?

also.. i happen to have a brand new Osho Zen cards.... dont really like it... the master card reminds me too much of osama *tongue in cheek*. if any one interested mayb we can strike a deal???

You may want to post that in the Trading forums.

Have you tried using it without the master card? Personally, I don't like the master card either and I took it out (and since it's an extra card, the deck is still complete without it; well, for me anyway ;)). But the rest of the deck I absolutely love. Why don't you give it another chance? ;)

1. i love the sharman caseli tarot (that is what the beginner tarot is called in the reviews most of them ) i got it and love the rider waite variants on the images. it is a rider clone in other words.

2. you may want to look at the radiant rider coming out in july and tarot of a new vision coming out in august,
and the universal tarot by lo scarbo
and of course the univesal waite tarot.

3. the oso zen is what i consider an advance deck. i dont' read with it hardly but use it now and then to pull out a card and understand philoshphlical wisdom and spirituality .
(try it as a daily draw for wisdom insights and kapow it will knock you down )

Alexis,

The Juliet Sharman Burke book and tarot deck are a very comprehensive introduction to tarot. Also, the deck (by Giovanni Casseli) is really nice and easy to get to grips with! I would thoroughly recommend it.

Pocket-sized Rider-Waite deck? Perhaps you should look at the Rider Waite based Hanson-Roberts. These cards are about poker sized, and again, are very easy to use and easy to get to grips with!

Let us know what you decide to buy! :)

Hi,

For a Rider Waite, I like the Universal Waite. I love the colors.

For a Rider Based deck, I have to say I like teh Hudes Tarot I got in trade from Redwood. It is based on Rider, but the images are a little different.

As far as your osho. You may want to keep it for emotional type questions..That is what I do with mine. If you really don't like it, trade for another deck and book set. Trading is a win, win solution.

for size, make sure you compare. The Hudes and Universal are both a little larger than the Pocket Rider Waite.

As far as learing. Check out Joan Bunning's site learntarot.com. I love it.

Blessings and good luck on your journey.

the sharman-burke-casselli is a wonderful beginner set. i think the book that comes with the deck is the best i've ever seen in a deck set.

another deck that's about poker size and wonderful is the hanson roberts. it's my fave rws clone.

hey Truthsayer...

about the Sharman Burke Caselli deck and book, would you say its more comprehensive than the Juliet Sharman's intro to the Rider Waite deck?

how about it's accuracy in predictions? which one do u actually prefer?

thanks... ! :)

My vote is for the Universal Waite. The deck is about as close to "poker size" as you get from a decent deck without losing easily discernable qualities. Plus, it is the same Coleman Smith imagery, but the colors are much better. They come alive much more clearly.

i'm a tad confused. is the intro by sharman a different book from the one in the deck set?

accuracy is such a personal thing, i don't know which i'd choose. if i were choosing between the SBC and the RWS, i'd likely choose the rws.
