I just received "Le Tarot de Marseilles" in the mail, it is published by the Spanish firm Heraclio Fournier; it is my first "official" Marseilles deck, although I have other decks that have a strong Marseilles influence, such as the 1JJ Swiss, the Cagliostro, and what U.S. Games calls the "Spanish Tarot." (also by Fournier)
What a gorgeous deck this is! Full, rich color, a back that recalls Spanish tilework, titles in French, so I can increase my vocabulary in that language; the four suits each tinted a separate color, very sensible. This is a deck I'm going to have to buy a nice box for.
Anybody else have this particular deck? Should I be gushing?

I rememener seeing this deck on a web site ;)
I really like how it is colored. I think it stayed true to the design of the orginal Tarot de Marseilles.
And yet, I feel bad now, because so far this is the best Tarot de Marseilles I have found, but since I am going to Marseilles itself to buy a deck, how could I possibly purchase a spanish printed deck?
Ah, the dilemna.... the only way out seem to purchase both the maison Camoin and the Heraclio Fournier.
*sigh*
So many decks, so little time...
I am really glad you found a deck that you like completely. Enjoy!

i saw this deck when i went to potugal and i had to have it! it's cleaner looking than the marseilles deck from grimaud. a kinde of "universal marseillies" if we compaired it to the universal rider painted by hanson roberts.
i was very pleased with it. the grimaud deck seamed so sinister in colore.
it's given me alot of good readings.
i'm shur you'll have lots of fun with it.

Can anyone provide a link that shows these cards? My husband just ordered the Camoin restored deck for me. I have not received it yet, but I am very excited to see it. It will be my first Marseilles deck. I'm curious about how it differs from others.

Thanks for the information everybody. I have wanted to get a Marseilles deck for a while and have been unable to decide which one to get ( I have looked into other posts here etc.) I still haven't decided but at least things are a little clearer, thanks Ruby7

Hi, Bob!
The Fournier is one of my favorite "regular" decks.
Gush about it all you want, plenty of Marseille advocates will agree with you. I'm glad you discovered it.

Yes, this is "my" marsielle deck also.
the very first deck I bought even and the one I learnt the tarot on and what is even better - I still got the box and the little folder with the year 1983 printed on it:)
and the cards are in pristine shape even though I used them a lot.
it is a very nice deck, hope you will have many fine moments and learn a lot from it:)

Always good to see others acquiring such an important deck... whether in its Fournier, Conver, Camoin, Hadar or other version :)
And please remember to also join in to discussions in the Historic and Iconographic section of the Forums...

Alas I have been hunting around for this deck, but it seems in Australia it is not available :(
I emailed Fournier at their website concerning the availibity of it, but they have not replied.
Does anyone know if this deck is available at all? Maybe someone can help me out getting a copy of it.......

Hi MystiqueMoonlight,
It looks like it is available here for 16$ US funds: http://learntarot.com/fmdesc.htm
They say they do ship internationally, though they don't say how much shipping will cost.
Good luck!

Could anyone tell me the size of the cards?
And how about the finish? How does it feel in your hands?

size of the cards is 2&3/8" x 4&3/8", metric 11cm x 6 cm.
cards have a matte finish, are only moderately stiff, and the back pattern extends to the edge of the cards, making for lovely visual effects when shuffling/riffling.
