I think that my husband may have bought me the Glastonbury Tarot for my birthday next week; it`s one of those decks that I`ve wanted for ages but never got round to buying.
I know that loads of you have this deck and I`ve just reread all the posts from last year when everyone seemed to go a bit mad for it.
What I want to know is, what do you all think of it now, a year on?
Is it still as good as it first appeared?
Do you still use it?

The Glastonbury is still one of my favourites. I like especially the minors, the people in it look so lively and are painted after friends of the artist, which is why they look so real. The artist also has an original way to depict the cards, for example one of my favourites is the eight of cups in which a woman takes off her sad mask and reveals a happy face. The deck has a positive feel, but not too much IMO it does not become meaningless and "just sweet".
Have to say though I find some of the majors really ugly like Strength and the Wheel of Fortune, I know the deck is not meant to be just a collection of pretty pictures but it would not hurt if the artwork was better on those cards I think, but it has not put me off this deck. I also still like the book with the deck, it is not one of those really big volumes but it has enough info in it and I like the way the cards are described.
Hope you will enjoy this deck too :)

What a great husband you have :)
Glastonbury tarot was my first tarot deck and still my favourite, I use it all the time. I found the images very relatable, and not static. I see different things all the time in the images iykwim.
I think you will really enjoy discovering a fresh outlook, with wonderful artwork. Even the back of the cards is stunning!
Let us know how you get on,

I still like it, although I rarely read with it.
However, there is something about the deck that makes me pull it out and play with it every now and again, even if it is just shuffling the deck. Sometimes I just feel the need to have the Glastonbury on my person.
Maybe I'm just not totally ready for the deck yet, but feel the need to bond with it for some future time. :)

Thanks for the replies, I think I`m going to like this deck, I almost bought it last year and then seemed to forget all about it. It popped back into my head and now I find myself obsessed - I`m sure you can all sympathise *lol*
Hopefully I`ll have it in my hot little hands next week - Can`t wait.
