This deck has probably been on this site under reviews for a long time , but I've never really noticed it 'til now. I think it's very cool! I would Love to have this deck, too bad it won't be published.

I also like this site a lot:

Hi purplelady ... From your first link, I really like the Trek Tarot's idea of having Scotty as the Magician. Scotty could really keep that Enterprise running, despite all perils. Then there's Dr. McCoy: "Jim, I'm a doctor, not a magician."

i'd like to see a next generation version. i think the emperor would be jean-luc picard, data-the fool, high priestess-deanna troi, Q-the magician or justice, beverly crusher-the empress, the lovers deanna and riker, worf-strength; just for starters. i think it would be fun to put more thought into all the ST series-for a separate deck each. just loads of material to consider.

Q may make a good magician, but equally a good Devil! If the deck were "Crowley" themed, one could have Tasha Yar and Data (who is full functional) on the "Lust" card!

Have fun,

I did have a Star Trek TNG tarot started (just for my own enjoyment), with about 2/3 of the cards decided as to who or what episode would be depicted.

Then my hard drive crashed.

ARRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!

I haven't really started over yet...it's just so daunting. But you're right, I can definitely see a deck for each series. Actually, I may start on a Voyager deck before I go back to TNG. That might be fun!

Peace,

Melvis

I think there was a TNG tarot in the works. I remember Jeannette saying that it never got published but that she was able to acquire some of the larger prints of the cards. I'm so jealous!

Maybe if we ask nicely, she'll post a pic!

But if there is a NGT than there will have to be a deep space nine and ofcourse my ultimate favourite an startrek voyager deck!!!

truthsayer  24 Jun 2003
as much as i love stng, i must admit i find the characters and stories stronger and more original on deep space 9. i watched voyager off and on but really didn't care much for it until the final season. i thought the voyager finale was incredible!

Woof  24 Jun 2003
I adore Star Trek but was always disappointed with the scans of that deck.

What I would LOVE would be to see decks of all the series where you could pick and chose which card (character) from which series worked the best for you. But I wouldn't want someone else doing it for me.

Truthsayer: I'm so happy to hear someone else loves DS9! Most people like that series the least!

I like voyager the best and than DS9.
But out here we still don't know if voyager will ever get home cause were still not at the last season:(
Were just past the herogiens...so we have much space to cover ;)

Ps Woof and Truthsayer who's your favo carater from DS9?
Mine is bashier and Sisco ofcourse..that guy has the most incredible voice i ever heared!

Woof  24 Jun 2003
Maan, I love Quark and Garak.

Also if you love Star Trek, and ever get the chance, you've got to check out the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton! What a cool place! I took my daughter there for her 9th birthday. They have people in full costume and they look so real! I even sang a Klingon drinking song with a real (well, you know what I mean) Klingon at Quarks Bar! How cool is that!

Maan  24 Jun 2003
O yeah garak rocks too especcialy in his daily lunch talks with Bashier.

I wish i could go there...but its a little to far away and toexpensive for me..maybe one day!

Minderwiz  24 Jun 2003
Oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spend enough time with my daughter discussing the best possible Star Trek crew and now I've got to put them on Tarot cards - what a wonderful challenge.

I too like Garak, one of the most complex characters in Star Trek. Despite DS9 not being my most favourite series it does have so many great characters, Dukat, Kai Winn, Odo, the evil Kira - trouble is there were no decent Star Fleet characters, apart from Worf and Dax.

Some Suggestions:

Data (The Fool)

Deanna Troi - High Priestess

Lwaxana Troi (Empress)

Jean Luc (Emperor)

The Enterprise (Chariot)

The Genesis Project (Tower)

Spock (in Search for Spock) - The Hermit

Borg Queen - The Devil

Seven of Nine - The Star

Klingon High Council - Judgement

Maan  24 Jun 2003
ooooh i like seven of nine as the star!!!

B'lanna end Tom paris as the two of cups...Harry Kim as the page of pentacles....

truthsayer  24 Jun 2003
my favorite character is kira nerys. she is the best female character that the ST folks have come up with-- imho. my other 2 favorites are odo and quark. i thought the interplay between odo and quark help make the show--just hilarious. i just despised kai wynn. in fact, if it looked like a show was going to be about her, i usually wouldn't watch it. i just hated how she called everyone "child" and when she grabbed people by the ear. i was so happy at what happened to her at the end. i loved the whole mystique of sisko being some kind of "messiah". the bjoran mythology of that show for a mythology fan was so excellent.

okay, i'll stop rambling about ds9 now. ;) LOL

truthsayer  24 Jun 2003
woof, i got to go to star trek the experience a couple of weeks ago. it was almost as great as the grand canyon. i even got a picture taken of me in the captain's chair. talk about too cool! i wish i could have stayed longer but my husband was too restless.

i've been to a couple star trek conventions and have gotten to meet marina sirtis (troi) and majel barret-rodenberry(nurse chapel, the computer voice, luxwanna troi). i even have their autographs. the one i really want is patrick stewart. i could have gotten it for about $500 at star trek the experience. i was so bummed.

Minderwiz  24 Jun 2003
How about Gul Dukat as the King of Swords?

and Lorsa and B'Etor Duras as the Queens of Swords? (OK if you want to be traditional then just take one of them LOL)

BTW we've met Armin Shimmerman who plays Quark and he's one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

raeanne  24 Jun 2003
Hi all,
I'm a Trekker from wwwaaaayyyyy back. I have always been very partial to the original TV show even though by today's standards it is almost laughable. (At the time we honestly didn't notice the fakeness of the mat shots! It seemed very high tech back in the 60s.) I have liked all of the ST shows, each in it's own right. Right now I am a big fan of "Enterprise". There are some interesting side lines beginning to develop! I will have to give some thought about these characters and which tarot card they would be on. I don't really see Archer as the Emperor. His curiosity makes him seems more like the Fool to me plus he always has his dog, Porthos, with him. T'Pol is definately the High Priestess! Dr. Phlox would probably be either the Magician or the Heirophant. I'll have to think about Trip, Malcolm, and others.

truthsayer  24 Jun 2003
right now, i really don't care for enterprise. archer is about a -5 as a captain as far as i'm concerned. he just doesn't have a very authoritarian way of giving orders. when he says "that's an order"-there's implied whiney "please". it's like the recipient questions his right to give orders. now porthos is a really cool dog. i like the character of t'pol but i am very very tired of the ST producers trying to make her the show sex symbol like they did 7 of 9 in voyager. imho i don't think a vulcan female would find high heels logical in the least. it's just out of character. i like the linguist hoshi very much too but at least she wears clothes that make sense. i like dr. phlox and trip. i could care less for malcolm. his character leaves me cold. i think the turning point was the show he thought he and trip were going to die and he spent that time making farewell tapes to all his girlfriends. i was with trip on being disgusted with him.

i'm actually surprized enterprize is making another season. of course, i said the same thing about ds9 and voyager in the early shows. i never believed voyager would make 7 years until the last season. i rarely had a doubt about STNG once i fell in love with patrick stewart as jean-luc picard.

Minderwiz  25 Jun 2003
Yes, I find Enterprise rather hard going to get into but like you it took me a long time to get into DS9 and Voyager. I like T'Pol, not really keen on Phlox, Trip's a bit of a whiney, but I don't care for Malcom at all.

Can't take Archer seriously having seen Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap - I keep expecting him to look in a mirror and find himself dressed as a woman.

Some of the later episodes have been a bit better so there's a chance that this may get going.

raeanne  25 Jun 2003
Hi all,
Yes, I know how hard it is to get to know new ST characters. I remember when NextGen first came out, I thought Picard had a poker up his ***. He seemed so rigid and the acting appeared forced. Compared to Kirk, he was just a stuffed shirt. It took time to get to know him. I seriously doubted that Riker had the intelligence to do his job. He seemed like just another pretty boy at first. With time the actors added depth to the characters and they become believable. One thing Gene Roddenberry wanted to instill in the ST universe was diversity. Whatever direction Enterprise takes, we can pretty well bet that it will be just enough different from the other ST shows to stand on its own. If there had never been the original ST, NextGen would still stand alone. If there had never been NextGen, DS9 still could have survived. Voyager didn't need the other shows either. The connection from one show to the other is a very minor (but interesting) sideline.

With the new developing theories of physics such as VSL, "Variable Speed of Light", that show long distance space travel as a possibility, I can only hope that at least a portion of the ST universe will be our own future!
