I had it, and traded it away to Tauni. Sorry, I didn't like the images, couldn't read with it, couldn't use it at all. Didn't like the 'atmosphere' of the cards, found them vaguely threatening. I am afraid that won't help you, but it is the best I can do.
I honestly do not think it would be a good deck to learn on. Marion

all i had to see was the strength card and i know i will not be getting this deck. nor do i think diana will like it either. both of us don't particularly care for frogs. i could just feel my skin crawling when i saw that card.

yes it is a re-release (The Enchanted Tarot, Tarots of the Golden Dawn are its previous names)
Marion - why do you see them as vaguely threatening?

'why?' you get feelings is very hard to explain. What I see as 'vaguely threatening' you may very well experience as helpful and enlightening. I suspect that tauni also didn't care for them which is why she traded them on, but one hopes eventually they will find a home where they will be liked and appreciated.
I found the images on the cards made me feel worried. It was simply a feeling and I cannot explain it better than that. Very personal reaction I suspect. Sorry to not be more help.

I have to agree with Truthsayers sentiments, I find it difficult to even lok at pictures of them. I`ve never met anyone else with a frog phobia before, - it seems they`re all on Aeclectic.

I felt that way too the first time I saw the deck, but I noticed I kept on going back to the bookstore to look at it, until one day ...
Some of the images are kind of gross (Justice), and I am not fond of the minors. On the other hand the beautiful mermaid as Temperance alone is worth the price of the deck :D :D

I like the temperance card too...and the queen of cups is gorgeous. I don't like the strength card that much - I like strength to be some kind of gentle persuasion, and it looks like the guy is hurting the poor froggy (I am not afraid of frogs :D), but there are quite some cards in this deck I do like.
I would not use it as a learner's deck though, looks like a difficult deck to read with, I don't think the symbology is very good. i think you'd better stick with the tarot nova for learning and maybe move on to this one later (I don't know the tarot nova so I can't say anything about that, but O know it is the one you are using now)

The Tarot of the Gnomes is by Lupatelli. Lupatelli also did a fairy deck. (The one with minors borrowed from fairyland paintings by Richard Doyle 1824 -1883.) A couple old threads on this:
But the Mermaid-as-Temperance Deck we are all talking about is by Giacinto Gaudenzi.
