Just received this unusual beauty from Amazon. I am wondering how it will perform in relationship readings - JUST KIDDING!
Does anyone have this deck?

I've got it. It's nice for the art, but really isn't very good for readings. I keep it as a collectors item.
If you want a good erotic deck for readings, try the Tarots of Casanova. I use that one a lot for relationship readings and it does splendidly.

I agree with Sobeknofret: Nice deck, good for a collection, but no good for readings. I love Manara's artwork, but the pictures in the cards don't actually have anything to do with the meanings of the cards.
Bit of trivia for you: Milo Manara's day job is creating pornographic comic books. ;)

Good thing that sex and pornography speak in a universal language-- gets rid of that pesky translation problem from Italian to English.

since we started discussing an erotic deck, can anyone give me insights re Giacinto Gaudenzi's Decameron Tarot (i'm a newbie tarot reader and it seems i'm developing a fascination with Giacinto Gaudenzi tarot decks)

I have the Manara Erotic Tarot as well. I wanted it soooo bad for sooo long, and every one kept saying, no... don't bother, etc. I love some of the images. They are all taken from his other work, though, not created for the cards. This became apparent to e when I looked through his site. Not everything he does is a comic book. There were some beautiful magazine covers.
Manara has a cool website

I bought this deck this weekend. Hmmm, same problems as with the Manara tarot-- lovely art (if you like men who look like they're packing fire hoses, if you get my drift ;) ), but not useful for reading at all. They didn't pay attention to any kind of tarot symbology that would make this a useable deck. In other words, it's another one for the collection, like so many other Lo Scarabeo decks I own. Divinerguy started a whole thread on this-- go to search and type in "Decameron tarot" and it'll bring it up.

Actually, Manara is considered one of the finest "comic book" artists in Europe. In French, we call comic books "bandes dessinées" and they are considered very often in the same league as literature. They do not have the same cheap connotation as in the Anglo-Saxon world.
Manara is one of the best. His bandes dessinées are not considered pornographic here. Erotic definitely. They are not, I think, even in the adult section, but they are normally higher up on the shelves than TinTin or Lucky Luke so that the more prudish parents don't start creating a fuss about nothing.
