You are going to be so envious!

Recently, an aquaintance of mine has been cleaning out her closet of various items that she never uses. She used to work at a New Age bookstore, so she has quite a collection. Guess who the happy reciever of these cast-offs are... me! (and Landon)

She's given us 3 boxes of books, not even going to attempt to list those. Many of them brand new, the spines not even cracked!

But last night, we got the forth and final box. Some books in the box, one black scrying mirror, but mostly it contained decks!

For tarot decks the box contained:

Art Nouveau (M. Myers)
Bosch
Chinese
Connolly mini
Crow's Magick
Crystal Tarot
Dreampower
Gendron
Navigators of the Mystic Sea and book
New Orleans Voodoo
New Palladini set (still shrink-wrapped!)
Quester
Scared Circle
Shapeshifter set
Tarot of a Moon-Garden
Thoth (large- not green!)

And non-tarot decks

Goddess Knowledge Cards
Animal Spirits Knowledge Cards
Dolphin Divination Cards and book
Druid Animal Oracle
Power Deck
Phoenix Cards
Celtic Tree Oracle
Psycards
Power of the Runes

And last, but certainly not least... The Greenwood set!

Landon snatched up the large Thoth with a whoop. I'm glad that I didn't get him one for his birthday last week!

We'll probably be putting some of the decks up for trade (no... the Greenwood stays with me, sorry!) ;), just need some time to figure out what appeals and what doesn't. Off-hand... Quester and Moon Garden are likely to go, along with maybe the Crow's Magick, Gendron, Art Nouveau, and Voodoo. Not making any promises at this point though. LOL!

I'm very impressed with the beauty of the Crystal Tarot (on-screen scans don't do this one justice!) and the New Palladini (don't know why I've never paid any attention to this one before!)

I must say that I am feeling a little overwhelmed with decks right now. I just got the Inner Child, Light and Shadow, and B. William's Minchiate from www.discountnewagebooks.com on Monday, then BLAM! And I so wanted to spend time getting to know the Inner Child deck properly... now look at all the distractions I have to deal with!... sigh... :)

Just wanted to share my amazing good fortune with my friends here on Aeclectic. I'm stunned at her generosity.

How fabulous for you! I am thrilled (in a vicarious sort of way, of course).

I hope you like the Druid Animal Oracle. It was my first deck of any kind and is very dear to me.

why is it that this kind of things never happens to me? *sighs*

oh, well, I really wish you enjoy the good fortune you had, my dear, because this kind of things doesn't happen very often.

anjo *dying of envy*

do you know where the trade forum is? because if you don't know we can help you.... })

Silverlotus  09 Jun 2003
What a wonderful gift! Take the time to really enjoy all the decks before you think about trading them away though. With so many, you might rush through them and miss something really great.

But *cough* if you are looking for a good home for the Goddess Knowledge Cards, keep me in mind. lol! :)

Seriously, enjoy them all! What a lucky person you are!

Le_Corsair  09 Jun 2003
Oh, you are soooo lucky, you must be on an up Karma cycle! What a treasure trove of great decks, including the New Palladini, my favorite! If you like it you may try the other one by David Palladini, the Aquarian Tarot. It is his earlier deck, and is around 30 years old, was published in....1970? Yikes, where DOES the time go?

Sobeknofret  09 Jun 2003
WOW! What great good fortune! Enjoy yourself and your new decks!

I'm awfully sorry that you feel this way... now, you know... my birthday is coming up pretty soon... perhaps if you wanted to be shed of one or two of these decks.... ;)

Just kidding... I am truly thrilled for you!

Myrrha  10 Jun 2003
Wow! What a wonderful thing to happen to you. Someone said to take time to get to know all the decks before you trade them away, that is a good idea. It can feel overwhelming to have too many decks around, I put the ones I am not using for the moment in a box in my closet. Let us know what you think of Navigators of the Mystic Sea.
