I have a real urge to buy the Alchemical tarotdeck, it would be a very welcome addition to my other decks. http://www.aeclectic.net/alchemical/index.html
But I have a hard time finding it. I ordered it through amazon.co.uk but they cannot deliver it anywhere soon. Does anyone have an idea where to find it? I prefer somewhere in Europe or I am stuck with the whole taxthing.
If I can buy from someone here who wants to get rid of it, that would be great as well.

Just for general informational purposes: The Robert Place Alchemical Tarot is now out-of-print, according to the title's North American distributor. I expect that supplies remain with various retailers here and there, but anyone who has been thinking about this title probably should order it quickly if they can find it, because once the supply is exhausted through the "standard" sources, the price of this item could start to rise quickly on the secondary market.

Too bad! This is one of my favorite non-RWS decks: well thought out and admirably drawn and executed.

I had written Mr. Place about his "Angels Tarot" but did not mention the other. I wonder if he has some copies stuck back somewhere . . . ? I just checked his site and he says that it is "temporarily out of stock". I guess that is a good sign that it will be reprinted.
He seems to have two new ones that are coming out this next year, one a life of Buddah Tarot and the other seems to be a pre-Raphaelite style deck (I like better).
His illustration style is very nice indeed.

Full Deck,
Where can I see Buddha deck and Pre-Raphaelite (Mr. Place's decks)?

His Alchemical Tarot is stunning! I have the deck and love it. If you're at all considering it, buy it now!
Also, his jewelry is lovely.
And I know now why I have such an affinity for his work! He has a greyhound (I have one too and they're just the best dogs!) and uses her as a model in much of his work.

Thank you for the links!
The Buddha deck is lovely, but how in the world is it read? Meaning, how do you correspond? Does it have its own set of meanings with a book/guidelines at least?
Or will I have to really on my trusty (or rusty) intuition yet again?!
Thanks,
Elle

It looks like Mr. Place is trying to create a parallel relationship between the Major Arcana progression (fool's journey) to the life of Buddah.
It's a bit much for me (World card for example) but it's a nice try anyway. I detest that Mara sucker anyway . . .

I just bought this deck at the Omega Centre Bookstore in Toronto. What a fabulous deck. I've gone away from RWS decks, using mainly my Thoth deck, but this one is bringing me back. I see that someone referred to it as a non-RWS deck but to me it is definitely in that genre of deck, just as the Mythic deck or Shining Tribe decks are, very different, with a decidedly different theme but the deck remains faithful to the RWS template. And you really don't need to know anything about Alchemy to use and enjoy the deck. Beautiful artwork.
