Marseilles decks!!!!

Hi everyone Even though I am studying more decks than I can handle at the moment, I read threads on the Marseilles with great interest. I have never been attracted to these decks, which is what a lot of people seemed to say, but like them, the history is important to me. The more I looked at the variations, the more they started to change my mind. My budget doesnt alow me to purchase one at the moment, and for that reason, I thought I would research a bit before I can. I am completely ignorant to the variations and have no idea what decks are in print, which relies on the earliest designs and which ones work for people the best. Can anyone help me out? I searched the threads for pictures but just ended up getting confused. There was a recoloured one with more vivid backgrounds but that just hindered the whole process for me. If I am going to purchase one of these, I want it to be one that is near to the original basis of the deck. Can anyone post different Marseille decks or offer me some links? I apologise for lack of knowlege around this subject. Another reason why I would like to become more involved. Best wishes Yaboot

Look at the Marseilles decks page and after you click on the boxes, cards will show up. This is the only one that I know of that shows various ones available right now. If they don't appeal, Lo Scarabeo has a home site of their Marseilles variants. http://home.comcast.net/~felicityk/tarot/ Tarothermit shows Italian patterns if you want to get into them. But why don't you start with Felicity's site and then check out Joan Bunnings learntarot.com to see more details about titles, decks, etc....

of some of the Marseilles styles, try this url: http://www.learntarot.com/subjma.htm I have the Fournier, it is a nice deck. Most people here at Aeclectic will probably steer you to the Camoin, it is probably the most prestigious and a lovely deck. The Hadar is another very classy and popular deck with experienced collectors. There are a lot of threads active right now gushing over the various decks, just go to the various websites, look at as many cards as possible, and make your choice! De gustibus non est disputandum! The "plain" old Grimaud deck works wonders for me. Especially the Majors. I would never want to live without one. The Hadar is magical......
